I see there's a bunch of new comic reader apps out there since the last time I asked so figured I'd ask again. Any recommendations for an Android app that can catalogue the comics I have and keep track of whether or not I've read them? Needs to be able to either "stream" the books from a network share or OneDrive. Doesn't need to be fancy, doesn't need to be free. I'd just like to read the billion humble bundle books I've got without having to remember where I left off.

ComicRack is what I use. There is server software you install on your PC to catalog your collection. The App can stream the comics that are in your library.

Last time I tried ComicRack it only let you "Sync" your collection, copying everything from your computer to your tablet. Now it can read directly off the network? Will give it another shot, thanks!

I don't use the server feature, so I may be mis-remembering how it works.

What's Savage Dragon like? I've read a bit of Spawn and was unimpressed.

It's enjoyable for a long time. I've read the first 100ish issues, and it's really just a 90s-esque blast.

Savage Dragon is an insane creative statement from one man, who has been writing and drawing it for well over 200 issues, but really ever since he was a kid. It feels like a creative pre-teen weirdo's epic fever dreams. It's ridiculously violent, with lots of brutal slugfests that last entire issues, but always somewhat tongue-in-cheek. It's full of crazy, unexpected twists and turns that constantly reset and reboot the status quo, a rarity in comics. Characters grow and change -- they fall in love, get married, have kids, get divorced, age, die, get replaced by parallel Earth or alternate dimension doppelgangers, meet their time-traveling children from the future, have their world literally destroyed and replaced by a similar one with very minor but unsettling changes, etc.

There's a fair amount of humor, much of it sophomoric and silly, with occasional meta-commentary (and broader parody) of superhero comics in general. There's a surprising amount of frank sexuality, and all the women are drawn like busty, gravity-defying strippers, but there are some strong female characters in there too.

Erik Larsen has done what very few in the comics industry have ever accomplished, in terms of keeping Savage Dragon running for 27 years as one man's unaltered creative vision, for better or for worse, and it's a hell of a ride. I don't think it would ever get listed in anyone's top 20 comic series of all time (maybe top 100?), but it's still fun, and it has that feeling of "anything can and will happen" that is lacking in most deadly-serious mainstream superhero comics.

Keep in mind that in 2016, I binge-read the first 175 issues, missed a few due to trade paperback gaps, and then probably read about 25 more starting shortly before the landmark #200. So it's fresh in my head, and I have no regrets. The first 175 issues are available in seven thick Savage Dragon Archives TPBs so far, reprinting 25 issues each (but unfortunately in black and white), and Archves Vol. 8, which should collect up to #200, is due out in April, according to Amazon.

For some reason it's mostly all that post-Infinite Crisis JLA stuff, but scroll down. The 2015 Black Canary series was a lot of fun with neat Annie Wu art. There's 90's The Ray, All-New Atom, the original Omega Men, a couple classic Lobo issues.
Weird sale.

The Dark Avengers one is good provided you've read the rest of Dark Avengers that leads up to it. the Siege: The Cabal one shot is good as well. The main event was okay until the last issue or so which, as per usual with event books, is kinda unsatisfying.

It's bad.

I read it after reading Thor and was just confused the whole way through. I bought a few tie in comics but still never got the full story. (I had to read Wikia to find out what actually happened with Loki.)

I believe the target audience is someone who had read every event comic since Civil War. The target audience is not someone like me, who just enjoys buying superhero TPBs on occasion.

Oh come on, Saga is perfectly normal and healthy, hell EVERY comic has at least ONE scene where a dragon self fellates itself.

And yes, yes, sadly yes to Transmetropolitan being too timely. Just re-read it and shuddered a bit.

The... highly impractical costume design in Warlord of Mars gives me the impression it's pretty trashy, but is it trashy in a fun way that makes it worth getting on sale?

Also, while I realise it's not a sale, the Ghost in the Shell manga is being bundled I recommend it though there appears to be some censorship to this edition, but it was only two pages that were just fan service. It does cause a weird scene change though.
