Hey people have been getting murdered by other people for millions of years. Occasionally in larger numbers than the holocaust. Half my family is Jewish and my grandpa told me stories about how lovely his time was in a German prison camp. I understand very well that he holocaust is a sore spot for people only because of how recent it was, but saying jokes about how it happened or getting angry every time someone makes a joke won't bring the dead back to life. Educating people to not be racist morons and actually holding parents responsible for the things they teach their kids and discussing the media they consume on the other hand will actually prevent future violence and make them want to stand up to fascist ideals But nah all horrors of the world can be traced back to unfunny internet man Felix you're right

The difference is that the video game guy isn't trying to package it as a noble thing. It's one thing to make an off-color joke in public as an admittedly failed attempt at humor to make money. It's a completely different animal to wrap up your outrage in a cloak of righteous ideology in a quest to undermine your competitors. A comedian telling a bad joke damages his brand, just like a self-serious journalistic outlet damages their own brand by making too big of a deal over it because they feel threatened by him.

The media and youtubers don't get along, actually they never got along...the only time they'll bother joining together is either selling you products or get featured in chat shows or clip shows. For instance, Jimmy Kimmel made fun of YouTube gaming, as well as making fun of people who watch others play video games. Then a bunch of Twitch and streamer fans got so pissed off with him, Jimmy made another video making fun of their comments...and then just to make some "damage control", they invited Markiplier and some gamer grill (can't be bothered to look her up) to his show and played Rocket League, the whole scenario was awkward as gently caress and no-one bought it. The point is both parties will never find middle ground, and it's probably best that way...if they tried integrating content creators into mainstream media and make them look normal, it'd be way more damaging and uncomfortable for them. That being said, I'm glad WSJ took one for the team and hosed PewDiePie and themselves over. The journalistic media exposed themselves for being the money and fame hungry scum that they are, and after this all eventually dies down...Felix will remain a human being but without a show and personal network. Sweet chaos overall.
