Glen Davis says Doc Rivers 'was lucky as hell' to coach the 2008 champion Celtics
http://sports.yahoo.com/news/glen-davis-says-doc-rivers-was-lucky-as-hell-to-coach-the-2008-champion-celtics-211711495.html

"Because what Doc had in ’08 was special,” Davis said on the podcast. “And he was lucky as hell. Lucky as hell. The year before that they were wearing trash bags (in the crowd). …But then the next year they win it, now he’s one of the best coaches ever? I’m just not feeling that, you know what I mean?"

Artis Gilmore's absence grows funnier each time a list like this comes out. Elvin Hayes, Dolph Schayes but no Artis.

Dirk recently crossed the 200 WS mark and he'll be the last one to do that for years. Maybe for decades. I will bet anyone here one quadrillion USD that none of these active guys will reach 200 WS:

code:
Player WS
Paul Pierce 149.98
Pau Gasol 134.23
Vince Carter 121.22
Dwyane Wade 116.98
Tony Parker 108.42
Chris Bosh 106
Manu Ginobili 103.31
Andre Miller 100.79
Jason Terry 100.21
Tyson Chandler 96.77
Carmelo Anthony 96.77
Andre Iguodala 86.35
LaMarcus Aldridge	84.89
Richard Jefferson 81.97
David West 81.33
Joe Johnson 80.63
Zach Randolph 79.14
Paul Millsap 78.25
Deron Williams 76.77
David Lee 74.43
Luol Deng 73.34
Kevin Love 69.81

He'd currently get it somewhere in his 15th season I think, at age 34 or 35. Odds are he doesn't keep up his current pace that long though, so he's more likely to need to play until he's in the 37 range. At this point in his career Lebron was about 20 winshares ahead of where Durant is now and had three seasons (so far) ahead of him as good or better than Durant's best, WS wise. Dirk was almost exactly where Durant is now midway through his tenth season, so Durant needs to keep up a Dirk like pace and play another 9.5 seasons. Definitely not a guarantee. He's already had more, and more serious, injuries than either of those guys.

Yea, he's probably five or six MVP-level seasons away from it. If I had to bet on the next guy to do it it would be him. CP3 has a shot if he can finish like John Stockton. Harden, Curry and RW are so far away they seem like bad bets too.

I excluded Dwight Howard from that list. He's at about 120 and I highly doubt he reaches it unless he plays like Robert Parish.
