I love the ME games, combat is fun and they either don't have game elements I don't like or have them sparingly/as kind of a side thing you can ignore or take care of quickly if you want to. Other than mining-planets in ME2... I don't totally remember what that was about but I def. remember doing more of that than I wanted to.

mining tho was much better that garbage mako in me 1. you scanned planets to get resources for upgrades for your equipment and ship and poo poo. it was a fine minigame, bar random rear end clusters you had to fly to do it.

The Mako was overall kind of dumb, but sometimes it was hilarious to be tooling around an alien planet at top speed and trying to break the level design by getting yourself over/through obstacles.
