BuffaloChicken posted:Every now and then, especially when flying against someone with the same faction, dials will be moved around and we'll have to peek to see which dial is which. Thought it was an easy problem to fix - cropped the ship icons off pilot cards images from the X-Wing wiki and put them in a Word document, then printed them on decal paper. Then just cut them out and stuck them on the dial backs. Really nice, could also put it on the plastic center.

That's a neat dials project! I will say, however, that buying the fancy plastic dial covers is one of the best quality of life upgrades you can get for the game. Aside from marking each dial with a silhouette like your printouts, the ability to rotate a dial with just one hand was fabulous when I was playing with six stitches in one of my index fingers. They also sit flat on the table.

You can also see every maneuver at once so it's impossible to forget what maneuvers your ships has.

Yes. I more meant 'pack this evening for the weekend'. My main list is Ion Mindlink Scyk Mindlink Autos Title Fang x2 all PS5. Was brilliant for a meta 2-3 months ago, it's probably not the best right now. My side goal for the day will be to ion a ship off the board.

My main list is gonna be: Jakku w/Tractor Array/Pattern Analyzer/Intel Agent Fenn w/Autos/PtL/Title Ketsu w/VI/Dengar/EU Works pretty well, the Jakku is a pro-blocker. If I play in Hangar Bays, I have my old tourney list (glave w/juke/x7, ryad w/juke/x7, carnor w/PtL/Autos/TIE Mk II/Royal Guard), since it's the only other thing I know how to fly.

Did someone say Gimmick Lists? T-70 X-Wing: · Poe Dameron (33) Push The Limit (3) · BB-8 (2) Integrated Astromech (0) · Black One (1) Sensor Cluster (2) HWK-290: · Kyle Katarn (21) Trick Shot (0) Dorsal Turret (3) Recon Specialist (3) · Moldy Crow (3) HWK-290: · Jan Ors (25) Trick Shot (0) Dorsal Turret (3) · Nien Nunb (1) -- TOTAL ------- 100p. -- It falls apart really fast but so does whatever Poe gets to range 1 of.

Speaking of falling apart fast, I tried out my Rage Chewie + Cassian list and I made the really dumb mistake of trying to use the U-wing as kind of a blocker. That is v dumb, and I really should just be treating the U-wing as a rebel Lambda Shuttle, i.e. just kind of slow boat in the back. I also had Zeb in a TIE instead of the usual Z95 filler and having a TIE blocker is really handy on the rebel side. Rage Chewie (w/Finn+Kanan+TFA Title) is one of my favorite Falcon builds. I like it a lot better than Rey just because of the resilience and with Rage, I still get Finn's benefit (on attack) and it hits like a truck. Even after losing Cassian, I was still able to make good use of Rage by bugging out. I also ran Intertial Dampeners on Chewie, and most of the times that I could've used it, I ended up doing like 3-banks to get the Falcon out of there and set up a better Rage shot the next turn. Am I interpreting this correctly? If I have a Cassian u-wing with Inspiring recruit, and he removes a stress from another ship, can he remove 2 stress from that ship? I want to say yes, but sometimes simple things like the meaning of the word "you" can throw me off.
|
# ? Feb 17, 2017 17:16 |
Should be right. "You" typically refers to the ship doing the thing and Cassian is doing the thing.

Got a chance to check out my local X-wing scene at the tabletop store/pub. It was super busy, which is cool. Though I did see a ton of those plastic neon-colored maneuver templates and dice towers that you win from regional tourneys, which is pretty intimidating.

Yeah I played a pretty similar K-Wing list at MN regionals and only won because my opponent couldn't roll a hit to finish off a two-hull Chiraneau when it was down to him and the last K-Wing. Rexler hit something like 8 cluster mine tokens.

# ? Feb 18, 2017 14:55 |
Yeah the only weird one out of that list is the Jake/Nera/Wedge one. That RAC is the new hotness (which I personally think is terrible, with that variant being the least terrible by far). K-Bombers are a fun and novel way to play the game. Kanan/Biggs is a solid upper-tier list that you just can't gently caress around against.

Lol tournaments and meta lists My kid and I played a game earlier this week and I used my new Slave 1 w/ Boba Fett for the first time. I consistently positioned it so it couldn't fire on any of his ships from either arc, and then proceeded to fly it off the mat on the fourth turn. Still had a blast!

It was one of my buddies flying that kwing list at the QLD regionals. I think it's only a top 8 cut and he came so close. If one of his ships had of survived in one of his games, even one he lost, he would have made the cut on MOV.

Round one of a fourteen person tourney. Pulled Kir Kanos, Quickdraw and Deathrain. Pulled off a beautiful first three turns as dictated by ConfusedUs. Range three shots on round two (including moving Deathrain's TL off Manaroo to Fenn who was out of range) then Manaroo blocking next turn, and third turn with Zuckuss and Fenn at range one of Deathrain. Poor guy kept running over rocks and not getting his actions; Manaroo threw a hit and crit at Kir, range three, and he couldn't avoid his last damage. Manaroo seems to never miss shots for me. Manaroo, simply by virtue of shooting last after two mega-heavy hitters, is almost always shooting at a tokenless target. She's also one hell of a closer. With intel agent, you control each round's engagement. Are you in arc? What range are you at? Or did you block? I solo'd a full health Soontir once with her (the guy who came in top 4 at Mustafar, no less, although it was at a different event). Came within a turn of soloing a full-health, bomb-based Miranda at Mustafar, too.
