I guarantee if the right found some dude who saluted an Obama stand-up every day and was a part of a rally he did you'd see countless "HEH, LIBERAL QUEER WEIRDO THIS IS WHAT THIS COUNTRY HAS COME TO?" The Lester would probably have him lick the cardboard stand-up while a RED BLOODED AMERICAN WITH SOME COFFEE AND A GOOD OLD FASHIONED NEWSPAPER shakes his head and mumbles about "The Media maybe loves Obama too much!"

I... I'm okay with this prospect. President Beyonce would be a distinct improvement over the status quo and would probably have some okay policies.

I remember an okay number of "I'm good enough, I'm smart enough, and doggone it people like me" jokes. Still, I think pound for pound (and certainly position-wise with two presidents) the GOP has the much heavier stake in former celebrities turned politicians. Strange considering the usual lazy conservative takes about liberal Hollywood.

gently caress this. If the news had a spine or a commitment to any truth beyond "money talks" it'd have sunk the Trump campaign immediately after the RNC instead of equivocating over emailghazi for months on end.

Most of the Democrats I can think of who are celebrities aside from Al Franken are either Dixiecrats or Blue Dogs, like Cooter from the Dukes of Hazzard, who called on Clinton to resign during the impeachment and has talked about how awesome the Confederate flag is. Does Kal Penn count? He was part of Obama's communication team. I remember that his House character had to kill himself because of that. When I was a kid I loved newspaper comics and wanted to be a cartoonist. I would spend all of my allowance on Calvin and Hobbes, Garfield, Dilbert, and Peanuts collections. I just thought about what a Prickly City anthology would be like to read and I think I'd rather be waterboarded.

I don't get the "alt-left" conservative meme. Is it supposed to be a slur? Is it proof that the reclamation of the socialist label is working? Why choose an insult that equivocates your opposition with a group you've shown a high degree of acceptance towards?

This is some impressive tone policing. "Peaceful protest in a way that could conceivably inconvenience me? They clearly lost one potential supporter who wasn't just looking for a reason to continue not caring about nonwhites."
