They're supposed to essentially be chinese peasants right?

Man I want it so that whenever a character in Japanese has an Osakan accent or "hillbilly" accent they just dub them to English with a thick southern accent.

My guess would be that they didn't have stuff for the post-RoF arcs quite planned out yet once they announced the show, and rushed through the Beerus stuff first to have something to put out there.

There are some bigger changes in parts of the RoF arc, at least. From what I understand Super was a pretty troubled production for the first couple of months there, but most of those issues are more or less ironed out now. As ironed out as a weekly shounen show can be anyways.

Azumanga Diaoh actually did this. There's an Osakan character (that the rest of the class calls Osaka, because lol) that, in the dub, speaks with a really slow southern drawl.

Redneck Goku would be ~~horrendous~~ pretty great.
