Conference tourneys: WCHA: Higher seeds host on campus. Quarters and semis are best of 3. Finals are 1 game on campus of higher seed. #1 Bemidji vs. #8 Northern Michigan #4 BGSU vs. #5 Ferris #3 Minnesota State vs. #6 SPACEBEAR #2 Fightin' Nerds vs. Lake Superior Hockey East: Top 4 seeds get 1st round bye. First round and quarters on higher campus seed. Championship is at TD Garden. #8 Northeastern vs. #9 UConn (Winner gets #1 Mass-Lowell) #12 UMass vs. #5 Providence (Winner gets #4 Notre Dame) #6 Vermont vs. #11 Maine (Winner gets #3 BC) #7 Merrimack vs. #10 UNH (Winner gets #2 BU) ECAC: Same as Hockey East, re-seed for 2nd round. Finals are at Herb Brooks Arena in Lake Placid #1 Harvard, #2 Union, #3 Cornell and #4 St. Lawrence all with byes #8 Yale vs. #9 Dartmouth #12 Brown vs. #5 Q'Pac #6 Clarkson vs. #11 RPI #7 Princeton vs. #10 Colgate Atlantic Hockey: All 11 teams get in. Top 5 seeds get byes, re-seed after round 1. Championship at Blue Cross Arena in Rochester. Absolutely nobody cares. #8 Bentley vs. #9 Sacred Heart #6 RIT vs. #11 Niagara #7 Mercyhurst vs. #10 American Int'l (#5 Holy Cross vs. #4 Bobby Mo is set for 2nd round) #1 Canisius, #3 Army, and #2 USAFA get byes. B1G is still playing but there isn't much to do. MSU is dead and Michigan isn't far off. OSU and Penn State could theoretically switch.

NCHC Website posted:The NCHC Tournament will consist of four quarterfinal series on the first weekend following regular-season play, March 10-12, 2017. The four higher seeds will host the four lower seeds in a best two-out-of-three format. Denver vs. UNO Colorado College vs. St. Cloud UND vs. Miami Minnesota Duluth vs. Western Michigan So some shake up is possible, but mostly at the 4, 5, & 6 spots. *UND and UNO are actually tied for 4th, but UND has won 3 of 4 games head-to-head which I am assuming is the tie breaker. I didn't look it up.

The most important series remaining are the Wisconsin games as those games will determine 2-4. A PSU sweep will put PSU in the drivers seat with only Michigan to go. The wild card is what OSU team will show up, the 4+ goals a game team or the shutout by Michigan team. Michigan (State) are hot garbage

Fightin' Nerds obliterated LSSU and will play Minnesota State, who swept Spacebear. Nerds host. Hockey East EDIT: OOPS NEVERMIND. go to the next post Atlantic Sacred Heart plays game 3 vs. Bentley tonight Mercyhurt swept AIC Niagara plays game 3 vs. RIT tonight Round 2 opponents determined on re-seeding after tonight's games. Bentley escapes 30 seconds into the 2nd OT and we're all set for the following: ALL OF THIS WEEKEND'S UPCOMING TOURNEY GAMES ARE BEST-OF-3 ROUND SERIES Atlantic Cansius hosts Niagara Robert Morris hosts Holy Cross Air Force hosts Bentley Army hosts Mercyhurst Hockey East UMass-Lowell hosts UNH ND hosts Providence BU hosts Northeastern BC hosts Vermont ECAC Harvard hosts Yale St. Lawrence hosts Q'Pac Union hosts Princeton Cornell hosts Clarkson NCHC Denver hosts Colorado College NoDak hosts St. Cloud Minn-Duluth hosts Miami WMU hosts Omaha WCHA Bemidji hosts BGSU Fightin' Nerds host Minn State The B1G has one more weekend of regular season games. All 2 game weekend series: Penn State @ Michigan MSU getting swept @ Minnesota OSU @ Wisconsin Wisconsin stands a chance of stealing the 1 seed since MSU is a complete disaster. Sparty is locked at the 6 seed and Michigan has the 5th. Top 2 teams get 1st round byes in the tournament and those are guaranteed to go to Minnesota and Wisconsin at this point. Niagara had 3 regular season conference wins this year. Three. And they upset RIT (who aren't a lot better, to be fair). Revoke the Atlantic autobid. E: gently caress it let's bring some more fun stats into this. Only Brown (4) and UMass (4) had fewer overall wins than Niagara's 5. That said, give Brown and UMass at least a little credit because both were 2nd worst in the country with 132 goals against. Niagara was dead last with one hundred sixty-three goals against. Disband the entire Atlantic Hockey conference. DJExile fucked around with this message at 14:30 on Mar 6, 2017 |
