The battle scenes and story in Hacksaw Ridge are astounding but most of the lead-up, particularly before he joins up, is pretty lame and hackneyed.

So now that I'm not phone posting, the biggest problem with joke news is that it's essentially become the Democratic Party. If you can even say Hillary had a platform it was just gesturing over at Trump going "This fuckin' guy." And that's basically all their shows are. Stewart was just some mugging bullshit to make you, the viewer, feel like you're the smartest one in the room. It's the same function as right wing conspiracy theories that are currently ruling the land. That liberals demand actual news from these programs is such a poo poo show, they should be clowning Trump and any other politician, James Oliver should be shouting "Drumpf" from the rooftops, he shouldn't have been the first reporter on American TV to interview Snowden. On Chapo they were talking about how media had predicted Trump, how in retrospect, of course this was where things were heading, but then they say the scary thing is that media never shows an "after Trump" But I'm just reminded of that mediocre "German Films Predicted Hitler" video that was posted in this thread awhile back, none of those movies showed a world post Hitler, Caligari still ran the madhouse and so on. Because the worst thing happening is easy to predict, that's why there were so many destruction films pre-9/11, (plenty post as well, but those reflect more the trauma, rather than being just pure shock and awe.) "Think about the strangeness of today's situation. Thirty, forty years ago, we were still debating about what the future will be: communist, fascist, capitalist, whatever. Today, nobody even debates these issues. We all silently accept global capitalism is here to stay. On the other hand, we are obsessed with cosmic catastrophes: the whole life on earth disintegrating, because of some virus, because of an asteroid hitting the earth, and so on. So the paradox is, that it's much easier to imagine the end of all life on earth than a much more modest radical change in capitalism. " - CineD's Mascot Just because it's hard to see through The Zone, doesn't mean there isn't an outside. Things are just gonna be really painful ahead. Anyway, flush the fash. https://twitter.com/deno_tron/status/833794422512955392 wyoming fucked around with this message at 12:01 on Feb 23, 2017 |

Why wouldn't you feel good about it. I feel good about any director getting to make the movies they want. Don't give a gently caress about who funds or distributes them.

According to this episode of X-files, the sinister government of Atlantic City would immediately sweep a Jersey Devil corpse under the rug because it would reduce tourism if an amazing once in a lifetime scientific discovery was made near their city.
