Normal is tuned for people who are in it for the RPG stuff and story and don't mind having to pay some attention to action combat. And there's also an Easy mode for "gently caress this, let me button-mash my way to victory."

On Nier: Automata's Very Hard, is it that attacks take all your health but you can auto-use healing items so your healing item stash is your real health meter, or is it "gently caress your healing, get hit and you die"?

I saw someone in the nier thread say that the auto-chip doesn't work like it did in the demo in that it won't use a healing item for you when you would have died.

it's caused a lot of personal reflection on my part that playing as a literally nude robot with high heels in revengeance didn't cause me to bat an eye but seeing what to me otherwise looks like revengeance 2 and something i'd really like involves practically the same robot wearing a cocktail dress stockings with garter belts and a thong has completely removed my desire to play it at all because i consider my very low standard of personal dignity to be above that kind of videogame

it's also probably worth mentioning i don't think i'd have the same problem if i got a chance to play bayonetta? i think because as far as i know at least that game is at no point trying to take itself seriously where on the other hand nier looks like it's going to contain at least 99% navel gazing teens moaning to each other while wearing fetish outfits

It may be "serious", but in a totally ridiculous way. I'm pretty sure the android naming convention in Neir 2 signifies their role. 9S is a support character, 6O and 21O are Operators, and there's a 2A character I would classify as Assault or Aggressive. With that in mind, I think Neir 2 stars a character name "To Battle" and I think that's pretty cool. I won't be surprised if there's a Shakespeare reference too but I'd prefer it if the plot was about sending the android To Battle to battle with the objective to battle.

Legit, I do hope there's a costume where 2B gets to wear pants so that I can show this game to my friends without being embarrassed.
