I like to think that if McPhee hadn't made that horrible trade, we never would have gotten Oshie. And I'm really happy with Oshie. The first line is as good as it's ever been with him there. I'm Pollyanna. That was such a bad trade and we all knew it.

This kind of month happens once every year. Last year it happened to go for... oh, about 6.

I don't think we're on track for that, but the Habs better hope they get the second spot in the playoffs otherwise they getting bounced by whoever comes 4th in the Metro so hard.

I love that we have a situation where #2 or even #3 in the Atlantic is a going to be a much better position than #1 when the playoffs start.

I can only assume that the Habs realize this and are losing on purpose. :regd09:

They aren't totally hosed yet. They play the Flames 4 times in their final 22 games, which will make or break their season. If they can win at least 3 in regulation, they should be able to pass them easily. Even going 2-2 leaves the door open. But if they don't do either...yeah, they're probably hosed. Which I really hope isn't the case, because gently caress the Flames.

Man the Habs really really loving suck at this point and I'm not even sure I feel like watching of the rest of the games regardless of whether they still make the playoffs and are inevitably the first team to get bounced. Way too many games where they're just completely shut out or only manage one garbage goal for an NHL club. There isn't even a doubt in my mind that the team needs a complete overhaul in the off season and I hate to say it but I'm not even sure Price is in-expendable anymore. I'd rather have moderately less competent goal-tending from when he's at his best than these constant shutouts from a completely offensively inept team in the second half of every season. It's way easier to win a game and build streaks like 4-2 or 3-2 wins or something than it is trying to win every game 1-0.

I still think Julien is and will prove to be a way better coach than Therrien in the long run for obvious reasons but it's crystal clear the problem isn't a coaching one after all. The teams just not nearly as good as it always appears to be to open seasons.

Shea Weber turning back into a pumpkin after putting up 8g and 18pts in his first 22 games hasn't helped either. He hasn't been bad offensively since then, but 6 goals and 16pts in his last 38 games isn't the production they need from him. His PPG has fallen below Subban's at this point (.55 compared to Subban's .62).

Shea Weber only has 12 5v5 points on the year, which is the same number as Brooks Orpik or Andrew MacDonald. Weber has also played 200+ more minutes than both of these guys at 5v5.

Wow you nerds and your fancy stats like "time on ice" and "even strength points", let me tell you something, I once saw PK Subban try and make a cute play with the puck...and lose it! Shea Weber won't do that, and he's big and mean, too. Because a guy hitting other guys so hard it makes them scared to do stuff and they play worse is a thing that happens at the NHL level. Plus Shea Weber is a good leader guy who knows how to win, which he's done a lot of during his time in Nashville, unlike PK Subban who just did so much losing in Montreal, except when some other guy lead them to winning.

I heard that PK Subban was a meanie poopoo who sometimes mentioned himself when talking to the press and once (ugh, it makes me sick to even think about it) accidentally walked across the logo in the centre of the dressing room.

I gotta say if you watch Letang long enough at least part of you will think old tyme writers are correct because him and his pea brain make a poo poo ton of hilariously bad plays.

Then you realize he makes that many bad plays because he has the puck all of the time and is probably a net positive just because of that.

it's a pretty sweet pass to be honest but he didn't "anticipate a pass for a teammate sitting on the bench" he watched Miller get on the ice and skate to a position to receive the pass.

yeah it was a good play, the description in the tweet just sucks. there's a lot of players who would probably just dump the puck in instead of holding onto it and going backwards in the neutral zone until a play presents itself

also maple leafs #51 looks like he completely zoned out and didnt consider that he should maybe defend the guy right in front of him until "OH poo poo HE HAS THE PUCK NOW"
