That headline is exactly how I wish these sorts of incidents were reported in the US. Usually we get "family hit by train" or something similar. Nah, we need the brutally honest report. "Drunk dumbass was somewhere he shouldn't be" would be much nicer and realistic.

Mainly asphalt/concrete places. They have a siding of the main line, but wondered how they moved the cars around as needed.

Depends on the industry and how much they care.. about anything. I've seen cars moved around by cable and winch setup, but also towed by backhoe. it depends on the industry. some only need to get switched daily or less. so....the crew spots x cars, pulls them the next day and then respots x more.

Engineer (well, physics, really) threaded the needle real well between the two poles. Looks like some of the cars took out a few further back though.

Less commonly, some people will joke that "you have the corn dog and we've got the stick" when they are going the other way on the empty grain train.
