I cannot POSSIBLY explain why we are so totally going to get gassed to death with VX.

i dont get how people can be scared of north kroea even if they have ballistic missiles. i was unemployed a few years back and so i would go to the library and to pass the time between craiglist and poo poo updating job postings i would read north korean books and travelogues lik enorth korean dictators literally spend most of their speaking time talking about proper hygine. there are documented speeches by all of the kims admonishing their people on the proper methods of brushing your teeth and bathing and they cant even afford traffic lights. even if they get a missile theyre in that same space from ww2 when we dropped a second bomb to prove we could do it twice and lol they do not have the production capacity as far as i can tell the number one thing holding everyone back from toppling the kims is the giant humanitarian crisis of feeding an entire nation of people who are literally so malnourished that theyre shorter than the generation that grew up in the 80s

I'm really not the person to ask tbh, because I tend to believe that institutional intertia is already and will continue to stymie the vast majority of what trump [see: bannon] wants to actually accomplish. He's going to cut some regs, make some people some money, crash the thing into a wall and we'll reset like we've done since WW2. Or we'll all die i guess.

Man if North Korea actually attacked South Korea and especially if they did it with a nuclear bomb China would drop them like a molten rock. NK on their own don't have enough WMDs for some kind of MAD or spiteful world destruction and nobody wants to get their country blown to pieces backing them. They're only useful to China as a distraction and buffer state and that usefulness goes right out the window in the event of them starting an actual war. I mean I guess sooner or later something's going to have to happen with North Korea, hard to imagine they'll just stay like they are forever, but the players involved would have to massively gently caress up their response for it to escalate beyond loving up just the Korean peninsula and neighbouring regions of China.

Actually I guess if NK were savvy and wanted to start poo poo between China and the U.S. to force China to back them further, they could exploit Trump's stupid belief that China has complete control over North Korea. Just goad Trump into thinking the provocative things they're doing are on China's orders, maybe time a few things right.

If the internet/cell networks were to go down for even two weeks then you'd probably have rioting and martial law. Half the populace can't even find their way home from work without google maps. People pay for food with their cell phones. I know I'd feel panicked and suddenly alone if the phones went down. I don't know my neighbors. Technology had enabled my completely independent/isolated lifestyle, I don't know how I'll function when it suddenly turns off. Can't wait to find out though.
