Yes, Wolf Parade are the pantsuit flashmob from Hamilton, and that's why America loves them almost as much as our national sport, hockey.

There's tons of polling that shows that Americans prefer liberal and/or leftist policies, especially when discussing them using terms that the GOP messaging machine does not. (See also: how the "Affordable Care Act" has substantially higher approval than "Obamacare.")

Here's a dated but still good roundup of some.

Dems (the ones that actually care about winning elections, anyway) and leftists have an uphill battle against the voter apathy and electoral biases that keep the GOP in power, but the idea that Americans in general are unreachable FYGM racsexists is wrong.

Edit: Oh god I'm the only person sincereposting on this page. Sorry, sorry I'm trying to remove it.

Yet a massive amount of liberals immediately decided to throw all their weight behind the republican-lite Hillary and started actually attacking the one candidate who was pushing for actual progressive economics 🤔

These same people are now supporting the establishment backed Perez and saying leftists should just lay down and be quiet. 🤔

If you told liberals let's raise the taxes on the 1% to 50% and let's also close a bunch of loopholes that let these assholes hoard money like a crazy person hoards garbage. how many do you think would support that?

I think it would be a very small amount lol.

There would be a flood of "centrist pragmatists" telling you doing the exact opposite will actually win us the election.

Which is why Hillary had to have a closed door speech for Wallstreet. Because most Americans love Goldman Sachs

I wonder if you checked Freep or the Fox News forums or whatever conservative discussion space in 2009 you'd have seen moderate Republicans telling teabaggers to stop whining because they were never gonna get everything they asked for, and the stuff they were getting was just as good anyway, and the moderate wing had given them so much already just by having to listen to them complain about things

Like, from my perspective it just kind of looked like the Tea Party was making loud displeased noises for a while before finally taking the party over, but there had to have been McCainite/Romneyite pushback behind the scenes, right?

Is there anywhere that I can see the actual balloting for DNC chair?

I missed this gem:

http://patch.com/georgia/atlanta/dnc-chair-vote-live-results posted:

South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg, who dropped out of the race before votes were cast, did not make an endorsement but a text sent by Ellison's campaign claimed he had endorsed the Minnesota lawmaker. The mistake was corrected in a follow-up text and Buttigieg clarified on Twitter that he did not make an endorsement.

Thanks, Pete.

the situation there was a little different, the neocons were already being pushed out of the party into the democrats and liberterians, and the rest were denouncing the dogwhistle loosening but approving of it silently

the career conservatives, like all conservatives from every generation before, remained as good little cucks

also lol hard at the op. yes the current administration lost the popular vote - this clearly means that the losing party was annihilated and it is impossible to win on the current platform, changing to far-left full socialism now and alienating even more voters is clearly the answer

or it just means that hilary very bad

the entire election was the dems' to lose and they lost it by playing like it was baby school, perhaps come back with the big league chew

the reason Hillary was bad was that she did not stand for anything apart from "Tormp Bad" (SEE: John Kerry)

We need our politicians to have a strong, compelling, and above all sincerely-held message. Economic populism is one such message and the best one we got going rn

It turns out that when your campaign's main/only messages are "our opponent is really bad, like, so bad guys" and "our candidate is inevitable" you inspire people to not vote

and low turnout always helps conservatives because old people are immune to it

On its face, this is a wholly inoffensive statement, but it's been used as a dog whistle in the past for "compromise the poo poo out of everything so we can say we did something".

Still, I'll give Perez a shot. I was on Team Ellison, but I'm not going to jump off my roof because he lost.
