almost literally yes. that's why ellison and bernie get powerless speaker positions. the big problem is that centrists only want to co-opt the message. they don't actually plan on doing anything or helping anyone

exactly. while the left is making a big deal about symbolism and messaging, the center is setting the stage to apply an off-brand version of bernie's symbolism and messaging to the same old policies

the problem isn't that the progressive who won the DNC chair vote doesn't have Bernie's endorsement, it's that there's barely been a peep about progressive policies since the election and the Dems are using opposition to Trump as a way to avoid having to take real policy positions themselves, just like Republicans did vs Obama

If you think calling me names is gonna get a rise out me, think again. I like my life as an idiot!
Another gem from my mother-in-law:

It would have been better if the Government had people put there money in a savings account that they could not touch until retirement. The government has spent people's social security. I am not planning on drawing social security. I came from nothing. Me and my husband have worked hard. We own two businesses with only a High school education. So if you work hard you can do anything.

It's what centrists use to label the fact that virtually all the wealth and economic gains under Obama have gone to the ultra-rich donor class.

People noticed this and decided not to vote for the candidate that promised more of that.

The lack of enthusiasm for Hillary's idea of "gains for only the 1%" is what they're referring to

any time a trump voter says or does something bigoted, it's fashionable to sarcastically say they voted for trump because of *~economic anxiety~*

because bigotry does not correlate with poverty or lack of education, you see

it is legitimately a problem that lots of people are poor but some people have dealt with their poverty and hopelessness by swallowing racist propaganda telling them that it's because of Mexicans and black people stealing welfare, so obviously all poor people are racist and we should laugh at them

No he didn't lol

He correctly pointed out the fact that traditional jobs that could provide a middle class life have been sent to other countries in exchange for executive bonuses, and promised to bring the jobs back.

Of course, he's going to get his friends rich, but enough desperate poorly educated people believed him and voted for him.

We can't forget that Trump bragged about how he got politicians to do whatever he wanted as a demonstration of how broken the campaign finance system is.

Meanwhile, Hillary was giving +$1000 plate fundraisers while a white noise machine blocked out what she said.

Never underestimate the power of radical honesty.

I mean, Trump was also lying constantly, so "honesty" is a bit of a strong word

also many of the people ironically using "economic anxiety" are doing it in reaction to people who are genuinely unfixiably racist instead of looking like the 5-10% of the electorate that actually did stupidly vote out of their own economic interest hoping it was a reset button of some sort. its like "lol, loony left! see, you'll never fix these people!" even though the racist trump voter floor is like 25% of the country and the people they're pointing out are part of that percentage.
