I've only got a handful of them left but at least it'll be less time consuming. On the subject of hard mode, the lack of level dropping and the spike between normal and hard only really further reinforces my feelings about it being designed for playing after you've beaten the game or level too fast. I think someone else suggested that they expect that in the thread too.

Considering how the base PS4 runs it well for the most part and only chugs at certain points, I think the specs are pretty over-estimated.

The Revengeance port also had super high min specs for no real reason. I think Platinum just goes "eh this is what we tested it on".

PS4 doesn't run the game at 1080p though. Also it's not unusual for PC versions to have options for improved graphics compared to console versions.

Wouldn't be the first game like this. Resident evil has even higher recommended specs and that still ran more than fine on my hardware. I don't doubt this will run fine on an i5 2500k with a 970.

Jack Trades posted:Good, short primer on the Nier story. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that reading a 10 minute video on Nier's story isn't particularly helpful in understanding the Automata plot. In fact, it's probably more useful to read Yoko Taro's stageplay instead.

So I cleared the game, save for leftover side quests/joke endings. It improves upon the original in every way except story; NieR still reigns supreme in that department. Not that Automata's story was BAD, no way, but imo it ended up going a little crazy with all the plots and conspiracies... If not for the side quests (including two that HUGELY flesh out 2B/9S' relationship, so much that I can't believe they made them optional) the C/D branch might have left me feeling more flat. I wonder what they have in store for us re: DLC? Those locked doors with the apologizing robots really bug me!
