So I bought WWE 2K17 the other week, and I've got a question. I started career mode and lost my first two matches and blew my promos so I'd start in NXT. Is there a point that I'll get raised to the main roster, or do I need to switch my championship belt focus to someone who holds a main event belt to do so? Just wondering if there's a point the game will promote me to the main roster since I've won almost every match or if I have to do it myself.

If you're expecting MyCareer to be, like, a story engine, that will chronicle your rise to the top, and contextually respond to your actions, it's not. Other than the cut scenes it's basically just Universe Mode, if you only controlled one guy and he wrestled every single show. Hottest tip I can give is that switching championships also ends whatever rivalry you're currently in and skips your next match, and you can just keep doing that until you get to something novel, like the Rumble or Money in the Bank. Just make sure you're going after the big belt and you're not in a rivalry the day of, or you'll end up in some bullshit nothing match on the midcard and it'll be another 108 goddamned matches before you get another shot at it.

Android punters will be getting an invite to the WWE Champions Faction Fight (or something like that) Beta. Few things to note: 1) You fill out a google doc and then get taken to a hockeyapp website - register in a new tab/window. If you register they'll tell you to download their app, gently caress that poo poo, just register and reload the original page and you can download the beta. 2) You'll need to enter a new name and do the tutorial again  3) We'll probably have to set up a new faction in the beta to test the functionality, so it seems a bit dumb...? Beta's on until the 3rd, US PST.

On the plus side you go do a two match tour, they give you 10's of thousands of coins, level you up into the 30s and you get to open loot boxes with 40 odd items (including wrestlers) in each. If they had these sort of rewards in game, it'd almost feel like it's worth playing! Would ya look at those numbers, gotdamn Won't let me create a faction though for some reason, the create button doesn't respond The No Diet Soldiers will never live.

Whoever made Champions both knows their wrestling and has a sense of humor. Legend Killer Orton has his hangman DDT as a signature and the game has it called 'Vintage'.

Yeah, there's some fun little things. If you pair Bray and Barrett, it gives you a bonus for them both being in the Nexus. Also Bray's finisher is a Stunner which I only vaguely recall him having broken out before.

Word of advice I wish I knew. If you're gonna go crazy with CAWs and arenas with Universe mode (aka, 6 brands), you're gonna have to delete every CAW's attire down to one attire for the most part so you can fit under the 1,000 logo limit. Wish I had known that being 60 deep..

Some info from FPW Arena and various other places - The new smooth look appears to be a filter (my note: hopefully it's removeable) - 4 player online.
