Yeah but it's also a current events one. I'll probably search out the reading series ones and some other interviews.

Their new podcast is doing really well, so if they're even this level of fed up with her robotic bullshit, it's a good thing.

I started thinking about Chapo vs their new podcast after the most recent chapo and their diatribe about Ellison. Chapo represents the left, disempowered and alienated, but free to say anything. Pod Save America is the shadow government, out of power but still with the bridle in their mouth because they know everything they do say will be used against them once they inevitably return to power. I liked 1600 because it felt like an honest take from people who really were there. The new pod feels less honest and more produced.

In short, you should neither listen to Chapo nor Pod Save America, but instead listen only to Cum Town.

The best case scenario for PSA is that this level of frustration keeps up. I hope they'll wind up being more informed by their listeners (who are probably more leftist and fed up with the DNC than they are) than their old cohort. But of course it's likely that they'll be more comfortable in their roles and not want to upset the lovely old guard.

I like Lovett well enough, but find the rest of the PSA guys pretty grating. Also, if I hear Favreau refer to their podcast as "the pod" one more time I'm gonna jab a pencil through my eye.

I'm excited for the Chapo / The Dollop crossovers to come out of the Dollop live tour. Dave is pretty aligned with them politically, and The Dollop story selection is often very subversive in terms of alluding to stories of the day.

Strong recommendation for The Dollop to anyone who has never heard of it - Dave Anthony explains a story from American History to Gareth Reynolds, who is hearing and reacting to it for the first time.

Two very relevant episodes include the one about the assassination of Fred Hampton and the episode about Huey Long.

He does it every single episode. For your safety, I recommend you unsubscribe.

I don't know if I agree that PSA sounds more produced than 1600, they're the exact same show to my ears. The first Pod Save the World episode about Benghazi was incredibly loving cathartic though, the only other commentary I've heard was either ignorance or right-wing conspiracy (ignorance on steroids).

This is what fascinates me most in existence: the peculiar necessity of imagining what is, in fact, real.

As a longtime follower of Giant Bomb, seeing Alex showing up in the Chapoverse has been fun. I would love to see a real crossover between the two, a Metal Gear deep dive or something similar could be good listening.

The idea of hearing Dan Ryckert in a conversation about politics and history with someone like Matt also has a certain twisted appeal to me. Dan has always come across to me as generally good person who is staggeringly ignorant about basically everything , who also loves brands.
