Random question: will any generic USB-C charger (like the one for my PIxel phone) charge the tablet reliably? I'd like to be able to bring a charger with me when I bring the Switch over to friends' and such, and it would be nice to just leave the dock plugged in 100% of the time.

FireMrshlBill posted:Sounds like a 60hz bleed onto the audio signal. Maybe some ground issue within the console (design flaw, not broken console issue). Does it do the same noise in handheld mode with the charger plugged directly into the console? If not, maybe unplug the HDMI and any USB from the dock and try it. There are sometime issues with devices that are plugged into power while outputting audio to a separate device, especially if both are on the same outlet/power strip. Tried everything, no worky. Decided to just plug the switch directly into my PC's capture card and will play through fullscreen preview mode in OBS with HDMI audio instead. Works well enough and I can stream if I wish! I appreciate your input

So will I have a chance at buying one of these mythical objects tomorrow, or will there be a second wave of people getting to stores at 5am or earlier snipping up any restocks that appear?

Did the demo of Snipperclips with my wife and she liked it so we bought the game and cleared the first world. Great game and worth picking up. Definitely a better party game than 1 2 Switch, though I steer clear of rooftops so I may not be the intended audience.pissdude posted:Tried everything, no worky. Good luck, I'd be worried about lag. If it does present lag, get something like this. May be able to find one <$20. Eh, my PS4 was giving me issues where when it went into rest mode it would immediately come back out of it, so I had to turn my PS4's CEC function off. Though that was a bug with their firmware and they later fixed it but I never turned it back on. I hate the TV turning off when I put a console to sleep because the majority of the time I switch the input back to my cable box for my wife.

Will try a different set of headphones tomorrow, but this reminds me of the GB/GBC/GBA days of Nintendo with noise over the headphone jack. Has anyone else noticed this? I am on battery power too, so not the power adapter.

I took the Switch with me today on my four-hour train ride and this is the real deal gentlemen. Played 3 hours of Zelda and an hour or so of Shovel Knight. Threw it into kickstand mode and used the joycons freestyle and it worked perfectly for both games. Maybe I'm a niche audience because I travel a lot but, if Nintendo can adequately support this thing with software, remakes, Virtual Console, etc., it's going to be around for awhile.

These are the same complaints that every device has. These could be straight out of the ps4 thread. Cec is the shitshow. Its supposed to a standard but different tv manufacturers and even tv's from a single manufacturer act differently. But yeah must be Nintendo's fault because a thing that doesnt work right everywhere doesnt work right here.

How the gently caress do you disconect the joycon half from the uhh I dunno what to call it but the extra grip thing with the lanyard on it? I have tried hitting the button that lets you disconnect the joycon from the main switch console and tried both configurations of the white tab that says LOCK but wtf I can't get this thing off I guess I'm just an idiot but what do I do here

I have a ton of cheap microfiber cloths for my glasses and devices, any reason why it would be a bad idea to cut one up and use doublesided tape to stick scraps to the parts of the dock that make contact with the switch?

I didn't even unwrap my joycon bumpers 'cause using joycons separately are for chumps or people with multiplayer games.Tender Bender posted:I have a ton of cheap microfiber cloths for my glasses and devices, any reason why it would be a bad idea to cut one up and use doublesided tape to stick scraps to the parts of the dock that make contact with the switch? Might get hot down there, maybe that could get funky? You could also just accept that a device you use everyday with your hands is going to get some superficial wear and tear and not stress over it.
