I was kind of hoping they would adjust the whole AEGIS system but thinking about "retention systems" does not have me hopeful.

My biggest hopes for the relaunch are cross-faction cabals (more needed than ever with the wider audience they're trying to bring in) and toning down the AEGIS system. Past retention additions like challenges and the museum have been fine, so I'm not worried there. Edit: vvv Dust of the Black Pharaoh. I must have it. I'm hoping for the best, if this goes the way of City of Heroes I think I'm giving up MMO's for good. This game might not be the best but the story sure as hell keeps me coming back and I want to shoot Marquard in his giant spacewhale head at some point.

That thing is absolute bullshit in PVP, best in class for healers. The other issue with Black Pharaoh is you then have to slot Laceration on your builder weapons. Here's hoping the retention stuff is a daily login reward like Guild Wars 2. I've put so much time into that game because I logged in for a second to get my daily and the guild chat was interesting and a guildy was organizing an event and next thing you know it's three hours later. And Samhain 2016 was fun. And a total clusterfuck. But fun. Funcom is prodigious in loving things up but somehow I still have fun. Except for NM dungeons.

I just want to say for all of Funcom's faults, they've always believed in TSW and wanted it to succeed. There's no other game like it and I'm just happy they haven't killed it.

It's really hit or miss. Sometimes it's full of chill people that realize Funcom isn't the most competent people and will just shoot the poo poo other times it's full of zealots that defend the decision of gender specific cash shop clothing unlocks as being a good idea.

Now that I have a computer again I've jumped back into Secret World. I'm playing this with a friend of mine and was wondering if we still have a guild running. I've also heard they are relaunching the game at the end of March with a totally reworked skill and combat system. That sounds interesting.
