It's only slander if it's untrue. Saying, "Jeff was terminated on Feb. 12th 2016 for attendance issues" is not slander if that is why he was terminated. Saying, "Jeff's a liar and stole everything from the register one night, but we couldn't prove it so we fired him for attendance" could be.

No idea how BYOB got turned around since I don't follow it super closely, but whoever managed to turn it around honestly did great. BYOB absolutely had this really, insanely weird period where it came across as the most hostile and weirdly insular forum on SA, I think, but then it somehow became the opposite of that and a pretty fun and creative space.
