Jeoh posted:Just gotta wait for a random peasant to spot a comet, that'll gently caress them up. EU II had a bug where revolt risk from events wasn't tracked separately for each one, each new event just reset the overall end date. The Ming had some events that gave like 30% revolt risk for decade, followed shortly after by another similar event. So if you got the random comet event to bridge the gap between the two you would have >60% revolt risk for a decade. Good times.

whatever7 posted:Can I completely flood Bangladesh, sacrifice it for better Arctic shipping routes? Yes But. The loss condition of most scenarios is 3 degrees C of warming. Also, sadly, the geographic granularity is regional, not national, so Bangladesh becoming a drowned hellscape can be compensated for by investment by your shadowy globalist organization in Indonesia or something. Pretty sure northern regions benefit temporarily in economic terms from warming though :has:

BCR posted:Beijing to run out of water by 2020. Cities to be abandoned. drat. This is one of those crises that I don't usually think of when I ponder reasons for why a nation might end up going to hell. They probably are either going to have to spend a stupid amount of money to clean up all the poo poo caused by their unplanned economic boom, or will just have to live with a pretty toxic environment. I'd like to think that the US is far-sighted enough to see problems like this coming and come up with solutions to fix them, but... well, you know.

It's even a toss-up whether the lack of water is a more serious issue compared to the soil pollution because there's expensive and complex options for getting water (like their canals lol) though eventually they gonna run outta glaciers anyhow, but once the soil is completely poisoned there is almost nothing even vaguely economical that can be done to clean it up.
