EU II had a bug where revolt risk from events wasn't tracked separately for each one, each new event just reset the overall end date. The Ming had some events that gave like 30% revolt risk for decade, followed shortly after by another similar event. So if you got the random comet event to bridge the gap between the two you would have >60% revolt risk for a decade. Good times.

This one is pretty cool because you are playing against each other, but if you hit too much C02 in the atmosphere everyone simply loses and there is no winner

Yes But.

The loss condition of most scenarios is 3 degrees C of warming. Also, sadly, the geographic granularity is regional, not national, so Bangladesh becoming a drowned hellscape can be compensated for by investment by your shadowy globalist organization in Indonesia or something.

Pretty sure northern regions benefit temporarily in economic terms from warming though :has:

Yeap. I found this out recently. Really turns me off the Palestinian cause to find out they basically consist entirely of raging racists.

drat. This is one of those crises that I don't usually think of when I ponder reasons for why a nation might end up going to hell. They probably are either going to have to spend a stupid amount of money to clean up all the poo poo caused by their unplanned economic boom, or will just have to live with a pretty toxic environment. I'd like to think that the US is far-sighted enough to see problems like this coming and come up with solutions to fix them, but... well, you know.

Sorry I meant to say I hope that the police use maximum force and kill or maim a bunch of innocent people, thus paving a way for a proletarian uprising and socialist utopia

also here's a stupid take
---------------------------->

quote:

"Our county is designated a national poverty alleviation region, and the central government requires us to move these people to the city to lift them out of poverty and raise the urbanization rate," explains county propaganda official Bian Dongsheng. "We can’t allow these people to drag down the central government’s goal of building a moderately prosperous society by 2020."

Bian’s slogan-filled answer is fit for a propaganda poster. “Moderately prosperous society” is the official lingo for President Xi Jinping’s goal to urbanize China. And the pressure from China’s leadership on rural communities like this to urbanize, explains Bian, means Lintao has run out of groundwater.

"Our economy must develop very, very fast," explains Bian. "This is a central government policy. Only this way can we bring our people out of poverty. Our government is trying our best to restore water to Lintao, but the momentum of economic development will not be stopped. No force can stop it."

Not even, insists Bian, the force of nature, as more and more humans compete for a dwindling supply of water.

Lol, this has been a huge topic that the CCP has been dealing with for more than a decade now

It's even a toss-up whether the lack of water is a more serious issue compared to the soil pollution because there's expensive and complex options for getting water (like their canals lol) though eventually they gonna run outta glaciers anyhow, but once the soil is completely poisoned there is almost nothing even vaguely economical that can be done to clean it up.

the mod should ask genesplicer about how poorly he enforced his probations in the GBS thread, because, uh, * cough cough*, its the same person reporting posts in this thread. and i'm like 99% sure genesplicer would say he swung and missed on the whole GBS "wow thats racism!!!" thing, considering he hasn't done a single thing in the china threads since then and the threads in GBS are significantly worse now than they were before?

i dunno, i'm curious as to what someone like sincx thinks about the probations? any thoughts buddy?
