"Bulldog" Bouiller says the second failure last week was valve related and hinted it was tied to the oil tank issue. So, wouldn't be too bad if the electrics didn't poo poo the bed this morning.

Valve tap seriously drives me up the wall and I don't think I could own an old Japanese car other than my rotary because of it.

Honda are brute-forcing creation of the most reliable F1 engine, by finding every failure condition possible ahead of time.

They developed valve tap at like 50,000km and proceeded to do it (and burn oil) for the next 300k. Also all of my Japanese engines make hella valve noise.

What's the odds on him for WDC bets? Might be worth throwing a fiver down as a dark horse. The Williams isn't terrible and they've got Lowe now, if he gets lucky a few times early on and then Red Bull out develops the Mercs midway through the year that would play to them a bit more. Edit: skybet says 100/1, think I'm going to throw a fiver at that. I'm now on the Massa train. F1DriverQuidenBerg fucked around with this message at 19:24 on Mar 7, 2017 |

Honda should have done what every other team in F1 history has done and that's instead of pouring money into an engine that clearly isn't working, pour money into stealing everyone's best and most experienced engineers and designers the year before starting development.

Normally at this time I'd post something annoying and then get in a slap fight with Wica but I'm desperately trying to move into my new house before the new season starts so I don't have the time to fill that particular forum role this year. Sniff petrol is charging £2.99 for a 51 page book comprising of the comedy summery he usually puts on his website each year for free.

You need experience to train your new people in the first place. Honda had been out of F1 for so long they pretty much went in blind with outdated knowledge and equipment.

If Honda really want nothing more than to train in-house engineers, isn't it kind of brilliant that they've signed on with a team that has no choice but to stick with them?

First year it was 11 laps total, second year they were celebrating doing a full race distance over the whole of testing. It's honestly not that bad this year, especially when you compare them to Renault. I don't know the total but I suspect over all the teams Renault and Honda are equal on changes, and at least the McLaren can make it back to the pits.
