this is my friend's new cat, Dandy. he was adopted from the shelter as a feral who was only recently found and the shelter staff weren't sure he'd ever get used to people. but since my friend's cat he already had was also a formal feral cat he decided to take a shot with the new one, and the new cat seems to be adjusting nicely.

the new cat still likes to run to the closet with a bed and litter box for him when he gets frightened by people, but he's become way more comfortable over the past few weeks, including to the point that he was happy to allow his photo to be taken today.

his ears and tail have little chunks missing presumably from life on the streets of Denver, but you can't really see that in this pic.
