https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bored_of_the_Rings For me, the book is freaking hysterical, and it's so densely packed with jokes and references that I've read it a dozen times and still keep finding jokes I've missed. Not to :files: but it's easy to find online, and/or reasonably common/cheap in used book stores.

If them exempting themselves means it's rubbish, why do people have a problem with the ACA? It was so good that they specifically removed themselves from the federal employee plan so they could use it!

I wonder if even realizes that kind of criticism goes both ways. Like, I'm considerably to the left of my colleagues despite working in academia, but I somehow doubt he'd approve. And of course that's before you get into the fact that all of his points are lazy conservative talking point du jour (du two weeks ago?) dittoing.

He kept refering to her as a man because he obviously had never read the drat book or knew that the author was a woman.

Lodin posted:No loving way has Trump ever watched that whole movie. I have an aunt who watches nothing but FOX news and she claimed Atlas Shrugged was her favorite book. Didn't know a thing about it. I asked her to name one character from the book and she couldn't, couldn't tell me anything about the plot at all. I'd bet money that what happened was O'Reily or Hannity or some FOX talking head she takes as gospel was talking the book up and she decided right then and there it was her favorite without ever reading one sentence. Probably for the best considering how awful it is though.

Not sure which is more embarrassing: saying it's your favorite book when you haven't read it, or reading the whole thing and still saying it's your favorite book.

Part of the problem is people with a lot of money use that money to influence the opinion of republican people. They have radicalized america. Radicalized has in the current USA president can't call a white suprematist terrorism attack a bad thing because that will annoy the white supremacist that voted him into power. This is the reality some democrat person see, but is kind of.. invisible? a alternative reality for somebody republican. The idea that somehow Trump is tryiing to avoid saying that the white suprematist attacks where a bad thing is a insult and don't represent reality. They get honestly offended. I'm doing a thing - anyone got some of Henry Payne's more "iconic" cartoons saved somewhere? And/or his old, more competent, 90's cartoons? Also, a site that saves his cartoons in color that's easily browsed? His own site does show a bunch of cartoons at once, but all in B&W. Besides that... maybe I'm completely computer illiterate, but: each month has a little number next to it, which I took to mean the number of cartoons in that particular month. But I'm not actually seeing that many cartoons in each month, even when hitting the "More" button (which, in a stunning feat of web-design, changes places with the "Return" button on the next page - brilliant) Xander77 fucked around with this message at 14:05 on Mar 9, 2017 |
