im no expert but china probably has the ability to decapitate north korea w conventional bombing which very nicely also gives them a chance to bomb every road bridge tunnel and pass between pyongyang and china

China wouldn't want them because language and cultural issues but they could probably be integrated into the modern economy relatively easily given the manufacturing base in China.
