If someone tries to sell you an "economic 4WD hatchback", they're either lying and it won't do what you want, or it will do what you want, and your priorities are stupid/delusional.

TL;DR Indianapolis police officer with a nearly .2 BAC plows into three stopped motorcyclists at highway speed, killing one and severely injuring the others. Responding officers took him to an emergency clinic instead of an actual hospital for his blood draw - arguably as part of a cover up as state evidence laws require DUI blood draws to be performed at an actual hospital. Officer evades conviction for the better part of three years, ends up with additional criminal charges while his case winds through the court system (including an additional DUI) and is currently likely going to be released early later this year, having served less than four years of a 16 year sentence.

Yeah, Indiana is *that* stupid. Odds are at least some of the cops beating up counter-protesters in Rhyno's story were themselves klansmen.

But what am I saying - don't you subscribe to the "the police can do whatever they like as long as they target people I disagree with and leave myself and like-minded people alone" mindset?

quote:

"Unlimited tolerance must lead to the disappearance of tolerance. If we extend unlimited tolerance even to those who are intolerant, if we are not prepared to defend a tolerant society against the onslaught of the intolerant, then the tolerant will be destroyed, and tolerance with them. In this formulation, I do not imply, for instance, that we should always suppress the utterance of intolerant philosophies; as long as we can counter them by rational argument and keep them in check by public opinion, suppression would certainly be most unwise.
But we should claim the right to suppress them if necessary even by force; for it may easily turn out that they are not prepared to meet us on the level of rational argument, but begin by denouncing all argument; they may forbid their followers to listen to rational argument, because it is deceptive, and teach them to answer arguments by the use of their fists or pistols. We should therefore claim, in the name of tolerance, the right not to tolerate the intolerant. We should claim that any movement preaching intolerance places itself outside the law, and we should consider incitement to intolerance and persecution as criminal, in the same way as we should consider incitement to murder, or to kidnapping, or to the revival of the slave trade, as criminal."

What he said.

Nope. I want the law to be fair and to be dispensed evenly. Police beating up unarmed protesters without provocation is bad. I'm just looking at the recent history of anti-Trump protesters being aggressive and violent and provocative and saying *maybe* its not bad cops.

The overwhelming number of anti-Trump protests have been peaceful - and the idiots doing the violence are a very small handful of professional idiots who are only there to start poo poo. And you do know that if said idiots aren't there, it's usually the police who start poo poo in the first place?

I'm got a kinda dumb question, what's the procedure for getting parts from a junkyard typically? There is a junked sc300 up in Tampa that has three parts that I need, maybe more. Window trim, the center arm rest bit and the pair of rear exhaust brackets that hold up the exhaust. I've never actually bought anything from a yard before so I'm completely ignorant in generally how it works.

You go and rip the parts off and say how much for these and they say "X" so you say "no how about Y instead" and they either say ok or no. You can ask beforehand for an estimate I suppose before you spend your time getting the stuff off.
