You told Bobby to listen to Jimmy Witchard? He was in my gun club. People say he fried his brain one day staring at the sun. 'Course, he couldn't have been to smart to do that in the first place. Kind of a chicken-egg thing.

The animation of the group moving after Dale looks so natural. This show really could have been done in live action.

That's exactly how I felt when I realized Cotton and Khan are both Toby Huss, AKA Artie the Strongest Man in the World. In defense of the last season: Fox is notoriously bad about airing shows out of order, backing out of obligations, and just generally being sketchy with even their top shows. Most of the last half season to be aired are leftovers with pieces missing thanks to boardroom decisions. I admit there are some clunkers, but compare King of the Hill's fake-out ending (Luanne's wedding is pretty obviously supposed to be the series finale) to the multiple lovely fake-outs that Futurama closed with (after being revitalized in reruns on a second channel and then necro'd on a third) or the long drawn-out deathbed residencies of The Simpsons and Family Guy. IMO, compared to every other Fox animated show, KOTH stuck the dismount the best. Edit: TLDR: News flash, goon spends too much time watching cartoons. Just watched the gay rodeo episode. Holy poo poo. JOSEPH (dressed as an Indian): Check it out, Dad! I'm John Redcorn! DALE: I don't see it. NANCY: So are you really okay with your dad being gay? DALE: Why would I have a problem with it? John Redcorn's gay, and I've been friends with him for years! DALE: Nice to meet you! Any special friend of my dad's a special friend of mine! These are my special friends, Hank, Bill, and Boomhauer. (Bill starts giggling uncontrollably and starts slap fighting with Boomhauer).

Thanks to this thread I started watching King of the Hill for the first time as an adult. I'm on episode 1 of season 3. Missed out on Season 2 finale but I don't think I lost too much. So many layers on this show I really didn't understand or appreciate as a kid. Also nice how Dale and Gribble talk about how to divide up the Hill family if Hank dies (Dale takes Bobby, Bill takes Peggy). drat this episode is really macabre in how it deals with death. The strawberry story gets me. Also, the episode where Bobby has too much sugar and gets misdiagnosed as having ADHD was a really well written episode. I didn't get angry at Peggy at all... in fact I empathized deeply with her putting herself aside and sacrificing for her family despite it tearing her up inside. That and the manger babies episode where Hank sees the dads talk about how psychologically messed up Luanne is (a lot of stories tend to be about her family) but he thinks they are criticizing the nail that he accidentally forgot to push in.

I think there was another flashback in the season 1 (or 2?) episode where they are camping in the woods with the boys and it flashes back to when Hank Dale Bill and Boomhauer went on a similar camping trip with their dads (and sneak off to drink Bloody Mary mix) but I can't remember if that character design for Bug was retconned or not. It's been a while.
