It's a long way from a production car but it does bear some resemblance to those Honda patent images that popped up in 2015.

IMO car design wise at least, the bottom of the rear window shouldn't be multiple inches above the rear edge of the boot/trunk. To me it doesn't look good, retractable spoiler or otherwise. Look at what people deem to be the most beautiful cars around and you'll see that the bottom of the rear window is never higher than the trailing edge of the boot/trunk. It's just been a thing since forever.

So the Jaguar E-type, for instance, is not a beautiful car?

If gas mileage is a concern, don't buy a 392 challenger. If $100 oil changes with 0-40 unicorn tears aren't to your liking, din't get one. If you want a big shouty green thing, buy the gently caress out of one.

I think it takes premium so more than $2 for you.

Why's premium so much more expensive these days? Feel like it always was around 10 cents for each higher grade so regular at $2 and premium $2.20. But now, at least in Chicago, premium pushes an extra dollar. Some weird refinery bottleneck?

More cars are being sold that need (or at least prefer) premium. Greater demand without a greater supply = higher prices.

Refineries will gradually adapt and start cranking out more premium eventually.

Regular unleaded is up to $2.57 here in Sacramento. $2.91 for premium.

Because gently caress California.

And the roads are still poo poo.

And yeah, turbos prefer premium to avoid detonation, which wipes out the "supposed" gas savings anyway.

You know what's weird, for my R/T, if I'd opted for the 8-speed automatic, not only would it only require regular 87 octane, but it would have cylinder deactivation too. But because I wanted the 6-speed, for some reason the manual states that it requires premium. No cylinder deactivation, either. Anybody know why the manual would need premium?

I would assume it's because with the automatic the ECU can control the gear and RPM to avoid detonation, but with a manual it has to play it safe.

My mom is looking for a small, good looking luxury sedan that's safe so I told her to look at the Volvo S60 and the Alfa Giulia (because I like it). She didn't like the Lexus' grill, the Acura had too many screens, and she didn't like the A4 for unspecified reasons. Anything aside from a 3-series that I'm missing? 4-door is preferred.

The auto 5.7l Hemi actually takes 89 Octane Midgrade.

I'm spending a lot of time in France and the Netherlands and good Gravy gas is expensive. 1.67 euro per liter for 95 RON unleaded here in France.

Related: the Kia Cee'd has a horrible name but isn't too bad. It's like they copied a Golf without quite understanding what makes the Golf good.

From lurking on the Giulia / Alfa forums there doesn't seem to be much problems so far. Especially for being a new car. Many problem-threads are people who didn't read the manual / whine about stuff like the front tires skipping when at full lock and driving off from standstill.

Seriously, is this an emerging design trend? I noticed similar directional wheels on the photos of the upcoming Fiesta ST as well and all I could think of was 90s/00s Pontiac...please stop.

Audi is definitely loosing their touch fr sure with their new lines in my opinion, but it's still not as nearly disappointing as what Daimler has done after finally pulling themselves back together and making most of their line up look like a proper Mercedes-Benz again - see W204 vs W205, maybe it's just me but a Mercedes should never ever be mistaken for a bloated Infiniti at a glance - I don't care how enticing their latest interiors are...

Hardness and strength are death's companions. Flexibility and softness are the embodiment of life.

That which has become hard shall not triumph.

Well it's also the first time in ten years that the Civic hasn't had a noisy and relatively lovely interior.

The new Civic is actually nice inside, and I say that as someone who actually likes the previous generations and their spaceship interiors.

I don't particularly care about the Civic these days since it's no different from any other econobox but they've really turned the dial up to 11 and just made the liftback line extend all the way from the A pillar to the trunk now? That's nonsensical and the most inconvenient and useless bodystyle and I would feel like an idiot driving it, I wish they would make it into a hatch or wagon.

I can't get over how in the Alfa the driver is sitting *behind* the B pillar.
