I don't think I've ever found political F Plus content funny at all. It's just an irritating drag, the most boring kind of stupid.

Edit: I guess if Basil Marceaux counts, that makes an episode and a half.

This is exactly how I read it, and I've found in general that reading really insane poo poo becomes a lot more bearable when you imagine it in kumquat's voice

I could take or leave the Ridiculists' jabs at the bumper-sticker right wing (and, in less heated times, the left too); it's when they actually read that poo poo that I tune out.

Also The F Plus seems to be mentioning politics a bit more lately. The Sean Spicer bit was a lot of build up with very little payoff. After Zarla read the comment they just cut over to a new reading and it seemed like it was just included because of current politics. I'm all for making fun of Spicer, but it just felt kind of shoe-horned.

Has anyone done a Freep document before? Would that just be too depressing?

They did a Conservapedia episode and a War on Christmas episode waaaay early on, but the closest they've gotten to politics since is probably the Infowars online store.

If you want people mocking politics, the Chapo Trap House reading series is perfect, just three leftist twitter goofballs reading and mocking dumb opinions from liberals, centrists, and conservatives alike.

An F Plus Marathon

On March 31st at 6PM Eastern, the ridiculists of The F Plus will begin broadcasting a day-long episode, livestreamed with video on thefpl.us. Hosted by Lemon and Boots Raingear for the entire 24 hours and joined by a rotating list of ridiculists and special guests, we promise to exhaust your ears, eyes, and minds with every terrible piece of online writing that we can get our hands on.

While this is happening, we will be soliciting donations for The Southern Poverty Law Center, an American non-profit organization dedicated to fighting hatred and bigotry through legal advocacy and education.

What you should expect

24 separate topics, one for each hour, all curated by the hard-working contributors to the podcast, with new guests and ridiculists being swapped in every hour
All of the failed jokes, pointless asides, and confused pauses that usually get removed from the podcast
Updates from Lemon on current Juggalo drama
Jimmyfranks being given a choice
Frank West playing a game

You know, at this point I sometimes have a hard time judging when something is too much. I've had several people pass on this episode as "too much". I agree that some of it is :psyduck: but none of it make me almost puke like Cum on Food did.

This one was the kind of special mix of gross and sad that you only really get with compulsive behaviors. Also, as a compulsive lip-biter with Genetic Skin Problems myself, it's a real 'there but for the grace of God' kind of thing.

And delusional parasitosis (like our good buddy Morgellons) is straight up terrifying.

Oh god Cum on Food and the bonus episode where Lou Reads about people making others drink piss without knowing are the worst. Just the visceral idea of eating cum or piss coupled with the secrecy makes it some of the worst poo poo around, even if it's all probably fake.

I've never listened to Lou's podcast, I assume he does it solo?
I think he's great on F Plus, but I dunno if I could stand the grosser stuff without 4 or 5 other people in the call laughing about how disgusting it is.
Might give it a listen though, though this latest one is maybe not a good starting point?

The F Plus watch fetish episode made me angry when that guy borrowed someone's watch to jack off on it, not as bad as eating it of course, but don't jizz on people's stuff without telling them dude :(

But you forget, mon ami, that there is evil everywhere under the sun
Lou Reads plays it a lot straighter than The F Plus does. It's just Lou, he reads everything in the same measured audiobook tone, and there's very little commentary besides him occasionally laughing in surprise or cursing under his breath. It can be pretty intense on the especially vile content.

Yeah, it's the FPlus if it was a one-man documentary instead of a ensemble comedy podcast. I quite like it, but it's a very different show despite a similar premise, and it won't appeal to everyone who likes the FPlus. Give it a shot though, doesn't hurt to try 2 or 3 episodes and see what you think about it.

I remember Canadian Escort Reviews and the recent Juggalo episodes being good and on the lighter side.

Thing is, when the F Plus does a gross episode, the peanut gallery's reactions usually ease the pain. Just having Lou there, NPR-ing it up with his dulcet tones without any commentary, makes the material so much worse.

It's one of those things that's played for comedy or weirdness so often in popular culture that it's pretty upsetting to remember that it is very much a real thing that people go through.
