I don't care for sneaky assholes that poop in the house. For osha ish content, we got a letter from our corporate overlords instructing us that due to a guy getting a cut infected or something we are now required to wear gloves at all times in the field. Well, our core drillers found that one hilarious. They also instructed us that Bluetooth headsets are now illegal in trucks over a certain weight (I guess that's law in California). This was a few weeks after we got sets for all the drivers to improve driving safety. They're also the brilliant minds behind the monthly demands that all field employees get drug tested (which is illegal up here).

Is there a longer video that gives some context to the crash? The turn didn't look too sharp, the exit speed didn't look too fast, and the driver appeared to lift off right before going over the edge, meaning they probably expected it. I'm guessing a blown tire, or a car that looks like a rally car but is actually owned by some novice?

It's fine for a trackday but considering the huge cliffs you can fall off at every corner, it should've been much better reinforced for an event like Pikes Peak. Here are some comments from some random dude on the internet: quote:it should have a full X-brace behind the driver/passenger instead of a single diagonal

Most tech inspections for a major professional racing event make OSHA look tame. Failing means you're not racing at all, and everything is scruitineered. Even something like pikes peak where you have freelancer and hobbyist teams in addition to high dollar corporate sponsored teams will be examined with a fine tooth comb. Edit: also, usually the inspectors are from whatever racing body is hosting the event.

If there's one thing I've learned from this thread it's that forklifts have enormous weight and traction for their size and are perfectly designed to destroy anything they collide with.

I was never allowed to drive it but that looks suspiciously like the manual transmission forklift (IE has a clutch) from my old workplace. It had a bit of power and someone actually hit me with a giant mail tote that was on the forks and almost killed me.

If OSHA regulated motorsport I don't think we'd have open cockpits I think I have a gif of an Indycar dude who was riding further back in the field getting whacked in the head with the nose cone of a car in front of him that had karamed off a third card car and was torn up plus most series today uses tons of aerodynamic down force for stability, so if they really get upset, they launch like crazy.

There was a very small car, much like that one, wedged in one of the exterior staircases from the top level. Like this, but with switchbacks instead of a spiral. Apparently the driver (probably drunk, being an HHN night) mistook it for the ramp down and was just small enough to drive down the first landing but not small enough to turn the corner.
