Bernie called himself a Democratic Socialist which is already the diluted version of socialist but he's really more of a social democrat.

Bernies personal political beliefs don't really matter that much, it's a weird liberal thing to assume a politician is going to make decisions based on their personal private views, when in reality who the politician is beholden to, and how their actions affect the views of the people they rely on to re-elect them, is much more important.

This isn't a bad thing when politicians are beholden to the grass roots, or the progressive left, it is a bad thing, when politicians are beholden to corporations who's fiduciary responsibility legally obligates them to increase profits by any means regardless of morality.

I dunno, this reminds me a lot of Hillary's "public position" and "private position" thing

Yet another reason Bernie rules is that he believes the poo poo he says and you can tell because he's been saying it for like 40 years

Yeah authenticity is basically the same thing as consistency/follow-through in politics, I'd be surprised if Bernie wasn't an actual full-on socialist who puts rubber-guards on his leftist views in order still be able to speak to liberals, moderates, independents, republicans, etc.

Excuse me good sir unions, a living wage, a consistent rule of law, and eliminating rent seeking only score a 3 on the scale of "Full socialism now" so I'm afraid you need to give up and go back to sitting down and eating the terrible candidates we put up because otherwise a Republican might win.

A lot of Democratic Attorneys General are pretty impressive. Here in New York, I'm a fan of Eric Schneiderman as well as the recently purged US Attorney for the Southern District Preet Bharara. From my home state, Tom Wolf has been doing as good a job as can be asked for as governor, but he's been stymied by the insanely reactionary PA legislature. I don't think any of these individuals would make good national politicians.

I am partial to Ann Kirkpatrick from Arizona, although she did not run the type of campaign I had hoped for from her this cycle in her bid for Senate against McCain. There are plenty of respectable mayors and congresspeople representing urban, working-class districts.

So idk. Start paying attention to local stuff and figure out who's good and let us know lol.
