Well, since I don't see the libdem fightback in full effect in the polls, I'm guessing that's a load of bollocks.

Labour are leaking voters to the tories and lib dems in large numbers, it's not really a contentious point.

Corbyn and Foot are/were extremely soft targets for a hostile media to go after or even worse just exclude as being dull. They aren't witty, they don't dress well for public appearances almost as matter of principle, and they are much better dealing with abstract, externalised opposition than people being in their face. See also Scargill who was just... weird... and a bit suspicious of the press.

Yes. But it is also somewhat unlikely that the UK will leave on WTO terms, it would suggest huge amounts of childishness by HMG and also the EU. Is that possible? Yes. Is it likely? Depends if both sides come to their senses over the next two years.

Er we do trade with countries outside of the EU, a large and devastating change in terms of trade with them is unavoidable unless a transition arrangement with the EU is agreed and chances are the Tories will blow any chance of that over something trivial.

Edit: Ahaha, wait. I wonder what the potential for the UK ending up with WTO rules for the world except the EU and we end up with an insane scheme of having to sell EVERYTHING to an EU nation first which then re-exports them to the actual buyer?

33% of our pork exports go non EU and it's the poo poo bits.

99.1% of our pork imports come from the EU because of import tariffs from the row.

We are a net importer of pork. We are about 55% self sufficient.

Expect to see big price rises and the introduction of other cuts of pork (offal & sow meat).

Clearly with my knowledge of pigs I should be part of blue Labour.

Edit - this speaks nothing for all the bad poo poo going into porters after the EU. Sow cages, antibiotics & growth hormones for everyone yay!

We shall see. David Davis is getting hammered by the press and Tess wisely decided to have at least two ablative Brexit-related ministers plus an international trade minister, all of whom have been in some way discredited in the past. He could go at any time and be replaced by someone more (or less!) competent.

gently caress knows, depends if they can get the Greens on board. Personally I don't reckon they'll be able to get one together, but if it does it'd be pretty centrist: VVD are centre-right, CD/D66 centrist, they could add CU (centrist) but that only gives them a majority of 1. More likely they'll have to court Labour (centre-left) or Greens/Socialists (both left) for a majority of 5 or 10.

It'll probably just get rerun.

The most likely coalitions are probably VVD-CDA-D66-GL or VVD-CDA-D66-PvDA. The problem comes with the Senate, otherwise VVD-D66-GL-PvDA would be more likely.

The most likely outcome by far is VVD-CDA-D66 + filler, which means a centre-right government. VVD is on the right, CDA are christian democrats (so also on the right), and D66 are centrists. That trio gets 71 of the 76 seats needed for a majority, so whoever makes up the filler isn't going to have a whole lot of say over the government's direction.

D66 are quite socially liberal, and often the small parties in a coalition wield more influence than their size might imply.

Lib Dems were the exception due to being unbelievably poo poo coalition partners.
