I got a Widow and just oneshot everything in bronze, and if I try to use literally any other gun it barely does anything. The Widow also needs a reload after every shot. The Katana (default shotgun) is also quite nice if you're playing one of the up-close classes. Asari Adept is kind if ridiculous with it, because you've got 2 detonators and one permanently on priming field, that also gives you shields whenever you kill something in it and does damage. Avenger is just flexible and the sniper rifles are great if you want to be a cover-sitter (engineers work pretty well for that I think).

It was my understanding that Casey Hudson was the egomaniac who botched the ME3 story landing, not Mac? Like I could swear I remember it came out that he legit locked himself in a room with Mac and dictated the ending of ME3, bypassing the (then standard) process at Bioware where every writer had to defend their output against feedback from the rest of the writing staff. I don't know if that's still protocol or if the only litmus tests are now "don't gently caress with the micro transactions or hurt Manveer's feelings."

So I was holding off watching playthroughs of this game, but accidentally came across a clip and I was horrified. What the hell happened? Why are the animations so goddamn terrible? Why is everyone smirking slightly regardless of what's going on? Why is it SOOOOO "jokey?" Really glad I didn't pre-order.

They saw that people really, really liked Citadel and thought "poo poo we need to make jokes this whole game, then!" without realizing Citadel worked because it was with characters that were charismatic and had earned our affection so we were open to it, while these guys are completely new to us and our main character literally loses his father minutes into the game and goes right on smirking at everything.

And let's not forget, Casey is a natural engineer. Not a writer. Mac is the one that stated he couldn't get anything done with all the writers wanting input. Not Casey. Casey, under severe pressure, had no choice. And now Mac brought that same bullshit mentality to this game , and as you can see, massive talent left when they finally got sick of his poo poo and what you have now is this glorious train wreck. Mac is the one that needs to be corralled. And also needs to just stick to character development (which he is good at) and needs to not be in charge of anything. He isn't capable and as you can see with that quote about how the animations are the best yet in February, highly unethical. The two go hand in hand obviously.

Some of it is fine, bordering on good, but the quality is all over the place.
