The Pens were pretty bad last night. Also apparently Hainsey might be injured now too. We'll probably have guys from Wheeling playing by the time the playoffs start.

So, about that Neuvirth extension...

Yeah Philly's blue line isn't total trash (compared to previous years, anyway), and they've been snake-bitten to an almost hilarious degree on offense most of this year, but it's hard to buy this as a great team yet when the coach is still so drat married to his 4th line and wanting to play a dull rear end grind game that they aren't at all built for. Hackstol seems to want to make the team into LA East, but we don't have that kind of size. At the same time, they're still clearly waiting on more prospects to come up from juniors and the Phantoms so i'm trying to give them plenty of leeway while they're in write-off years, but christ it gets frustrating.

Yeah it feels dumb to complain about a 4-2 win with an ENG on top of it, but both of those goals were real bad.

I can't even complain, the rest of the team played great and Khudobin let the puck in the net less than the guy on the other side of the ice so I mean :toot:

But being paid to be a professional hockey goalkeeper and allowing goals from center ice? loving abhorrent, even with a normal tolerance for mistakes.

Ungluing him from Zach "4 points in his last 23 games including a short-handed goal" Hyman might be a radical experiment worth trying.

It's karma for the ridiculous luck we get with acquiring good players.

On the plus side Hornqvist said he is symptom free and is a game time decision. I hope Malkin is just sick or something.

Could you imagine if Ron Hainsey, he of 900 regular season and zero playoff games, were to be injured such that he was unable to play any postseason games with the first playoff bound team he's ever been on.

Babcock says it's because both of them can drive lines on their own, which is true. Bozak and JVR separated from Marner basically can't exit their zone with control, and Matthews managed to make Hyman/Brown look like a competent scoring line for a while. Combining them is diminishing returns if it renders another line helpless.

I'd have liked to have seen Kapanen/Leipsic called up at some point but injuries didn't cooperate well with that.

In terms of who's actually on the roster it's almost criminal that Leivo is sitting the way he's played this season, and I'm not even that high on the guy.
