Got EA access and tried about 3 hours of MP gotta say I'm... underwhelmed. I had already heard about that one but it still stunned me when I encountered it in person. Like, after playing multiplayer for a bit I have more faith that the mechanics are solid, but I'd be loving amazed at this point if the plot is good.

It's weird. I'll be enjoying it and then something really forced happens (You'll peg the story beats for the first little arc, to the letter), or some outrageously bad dialogue comes up, or someone does a goofy walk, and it'll drag you screaming out of the moment. And then it's back to being fun and fairly slick and interesting and the characters might even be a bit likable, until it screams into a pit again. It's mostly fine I think. Until it's really not. Also, just play as dudeRyder this time. It's not that the ladyRyder can't act, but dude fits the script much better. For all the flaws though, I don't actually have much idea about what the overarching plot is going to be, and I'm interested in some of the mysteries and I'm definately interested to see whats going to happen, so I'm on board.

BioWare writers could really do with like a team of really ruthless editors, because they can write some pretty great stories and fun dialogue but the bad stuff is so apparently bad that I can't imagine a good editor would have overlooked it

PC version has some porting woes, but its sorta breath of fresh air despite it being anime girls, guns, and swords.

I take it back, maybe this game isn't so bad after all. I chose a default character, Sara Ryder, and I'm about 4 hours in and it just keeps getting better. I'm at the first outpost thing investigating, and biotic jumped onto my ship and someone radioed me 'Really, Ryder?'. e. Also, I love the way the biotic powers work. Best since ME1.
