Fair enough. That being said, I hope that the Setsuna Guys improve their next game, with a bigger budget and all. Setsuna did well enough I think.

Just realized they could port every title from the Wii U to the Switch with very little effort except for Super Mario Maker. The vast majority of Wii owners who skipped the Wii U would have like 20 dope as gently caress new games to play. (This is, after all, the core premise behind Mario Kart 8 Deluxe)

I don't know how many of the games were like that, since I skipped most of them, though.

Zombi U and Super Mario Maker are the only AAA games that fully used both screens, and Zombi U has a PS4 port where the whole game pad function is just mapped to holding L1 then using the analog sticks. In Mario Kart 8 the second screen was a horn for Christ's sake. In Mario U, Luigi U, and New 3D World it was just a map. Mario Maker is literally the only Wii U title that wouldn't translate to the Switch because it's entirely touch pad based.

A lot of Wii U games do have small, gimmicky pad functions. For example, Mario 3D World had platforms that would move when you blew into the mic or touched them. Nothing insurmountable, but also something that requires a bit of extra work.

I got the screen protector goons been recommending. Got mine on easily, no bubbles. Touch sensitivity feels just as good. Now I feel confident about traveling with it, and docking it without having to be super slow and careful. Looks totally seamless. Since it came with two, and I have an extra one, I can send it to a goon that has previously posted in this thread regarding their fine purchase. edit: mailed to lucky goon. Steamworld 2 devs did an AMA https://www.reddit.com/r/NintendoSwitch/comments/5zqwmx/ama_im_julius_from_image_and_form_games_here_to/ Here's some interesting things I cherry picked from it. quote:Switch is incredibly easy to develop for. Lightyears ahead Wii U and 3DS. The dev environment is great even when compared to PS4, Steam and Xbox. quote:Can you rank the dev environments (ease of use, support etc.)? Best to worst for PC, PS4, XboxOne and Switch. quote:Battery life of the Switch while playing SteamWorld Dig 2? quote:Among your indie pals, what's the general perception of the Switch right now, and in the future? If you've spoken to any major developers, what's their's? Here's a biggy quote:When a developer completes a game and wishes to publish to Nintendo. How much time is between day of completion and publishing to the eshop or publish to physical carts? So if devs only have to submit one version, why the gently caress did I have to buy Isaac from the US store? quote:How do Nintendo treat you as Indie Developers? quote:Do you think the Switch will do better in terms of third party compared to Wii and Wii U? quote:How is the development process different for the Switch (vs. PC or other consoles) as it is not only a console, but an on the go portable console with detachable controllers? Looking like the Switch is going to have a lot of 3rd party support and devs are super happy with it. Lack of 3rd party support was what really killed the WiiU, but it's sounding super promising on the Switch. You buy a console for it's exclusives, that are backed up by 3rd party games. If your console doesn't have those cross-platform titles.. then that's a huge chunk of the market you're missing out on. A Nintendo console with all the indie games that you'd normally find on PS4/Xbone? Can't loving wait

No idea about this port or how well it holds up today. It is a physics puzzle game, but it's not the tired "put box on fulcrum to access a ledge" crap. I did not like BOI. I find the x-treme offensive aesthetic distasteful. I also don't like the opaqueness of the game mechanics in a game as punishing as that one is. I think there's a good game in there, it's just not for me.

The great thing about BOI is that you can wait to buy it when it inevitably drops to $12 in a few months or when an indie Humble Bundle comes out ala the 3DS and you get it with a few other games for $7.
