The final grown up bro Nier isn't a 0/10 like his child form, but I'm surprised that design got as far as being modelled before replaced with the shittier one.

Quick question about a side quest, the father servo one. So he's level 50 and I can't even dent him. I'm also level 20. Is this just a levels thing, or am I missing something obvious? I can't break his armor, I can't do more than like 10 damage to his legs.

You should have noticed his level increasing time, making each attempt take way longer as his hp and defenses increase. Just come back later with a higher level and better weapons/chips.

I kept hearing you need to be level 65 to damage the first secret boss but my friend is still doing 0 damage at level 66. That's weird

It took longer but it wasn't as hard because I was still actually doing damage. Good to know it's just a levels thing then. Also apparently there's a subquest in the amusement park? Stamp collecting? My friend told me about it but the NPC isn't there.. I think I might have accidentally killed it I guess. Where specifically is the quest giver?

I see it I think I had to do the goliath event to get it to show up? Unless that's a different quest giver node on the map. How about that fuckin' hole there then.

EDIT: This is not the quest I was looking for.

Okay so my weapon completion is stumped just because Emil never ever leaves desert entrance so I can't get him to sell the inventory that includes two combat bracers

E: Okay even if I catch him elsewhere he still only sells chips and nothing else

So wait, you can taunt enemies by flicking your flashlight on and off at them? When and where is the game supposed to tell you this because I don't remember ever being told. Is this what the missing tutorial is because my menu is at 98% or something like that. Also what does taunting enemies even do? Note that I've seen ending C at this point.

Right after you get a pop up telling you you can taunt proper, one shows up after saying "Taunt - Mash L3". So, 1/4th through Route C?

I wonder if anyone has figured out a way to reliably manipulate Emil's spawn location and store stock. Based on what people posted so far it really feels like it is entirely up to the dice.

I gotta say it's hilarious when he spawns, sings his song at like 3x speed and moves so fast he's impossible to catch unless you wait along his route to ambush him

He would not stop spawning near the Tower during route C for me, it undermined several very dramatic moments. In a good way.

But yeah, just got to ending E, and I'm just blown away. It starting really getting to me when that chorus started, and then I felt like such a prick when I decided to keep my save until I finish cleaning house.

Almost done with B route after 26 hours. Using the border less window trick, I've been able to run the game at 1080p with a steady 60 frames and no crashes. Somehow it improved my performance??

Gotta say, I'm amazed at what a small difference like controlling 9S instead of 2B does to change my perception of characters.

I have the Hong Kong download and it does, so it's not literally the same, but there's not much reason to believe a JP PS4 disk copy wouldn't have them when all other instances of the game share all language options.

Any idea where a digital soundtrack might go up on sale if it ever does? I haven't bought music in so long I have no idea what the go to service for that is these days. The physical soundtrack is 35€ + shipping on play-asia and that's a bit hefty for my wallet

Yeah. I ordered the japanese Black Box edition the moment it came up. Thought there was no way that Square would make it available in the EU. Well they did and I ordered the EU Black Box again thinking I could cancel the JP version, found out that it was impossible to cancel it. the rules in japan are different it seems "this is no cancel commodity" So I just ate the costs.

Got the Platinum just yesterday and then did my duty by sacrificing my save game. If you're wondering what my final trophy was, it was the one for upskirting 2B 10 times. Had to go out on a high note, right?

A question about what I might have missed. I remember hearing people talking about "an ending that takes place 500 years in the future", somehow related to the Emil fight. I don't remember anything like that, did I miss a cutscene?

You have to farm them from the stubby legs machines. It's annoying because the game doesn't exactly tell you to do this, it just says "oh these guys drop them" with no map update. It would've been nice if they indicated they were a rare drop instead of leaving the player wondering if they're doing it wrong. I had to look up a walkthrough.

edit: Also invest in item drop chips. I did it in hard mode which maybe also added more enemies in the city areas.

Honestly, I can't really blame 9S for going off the deep end and the fact he is slowly getting infected isn't helping either. It's a glorious train wreck to watch 9S slowly go insane with loss.

Sure, it's understandable and right now 9S reminds me of Nier (the main character of Nier I mean, I don't know if 'Nier' is his canon name or not), where they each let their personal grief/vendetta cloud them from seeing/caring about the bigger picture. At least in Nier's case he didn't really understand the nature of the shades until the Shadowlord (IIRC..), whereas 9S does know better about the machines. Add in the sitcom-like misunderstanding of him seeing A2 kill 2B, and that's all a recipe for him to eventually perhaps ruin everything. It's annoying to see, but in a good way not in a "annoyed at the script/game" way if that makes sense.
