I had some congestion on Friday, worse on Saturday when thankfully I didn't have to go into work, then a runny nose and painful sneezes at work on Sunday. Seems to be mostly cleared up now and I'll probably be back to normal tomorrow. I doubt it was a cold, just the usual "gently caress you" from my sinuses that I seem to get in spring and fall for a few days. Human bodies are dumb. Droyer's right we should all become robots.

Stream Over! Assorted Madoka 5 and 6 thoughts: -I don't want to harp on it after every session because I'm not enough of a film buff to go into that many details, but the cinematography and production continues to really shine. Shaft's love of Tessellations loving Everywhere really works to great effect in this show, as do the frequent shots of silhouettes or characters lit from similarly harsh angles. Really helps key moments take on alternately dreamlike or nightmarish atmosphere. Homura taking off her cup's lid and accidentally evoking Mami's beheading in her chat with Madoka is also a delightfully wicked beat that the camera milks for all it's worth - without overdoing it by veering into slow motion. Just showing the event and a couple of quick, harsh cuts showing Madoka's instinctual, visceral reaction and Homura's sudden awareness of what she just did, all in a relatively tiny number of frames. -Another thing that helps cultivate the dreamy/nightmarish atmosphere: Yuki Kaijura's soundtrack. My goodness, it's been way too long since I've listened to any of her stuff. -The character writing is really really good. All the main characters are visibly suffering from severe trauma, and all deal with it in their own ways. Sayaka and Madoka in particular have really expressed their fear and grief in ways that feel weighty and human without veering into what I'd call sadness or torture porn. -Kyubei is SUCH a FUCKER. The undercurrent was there before, but the insidious little poo poo really starts to come into his own in these episodes. -Madoka's Mom is Good and Thoughtful, and her conversation with Madoka in 6 was a real highlight. -Sayaka continues to be A Hero. A naive and woefully overwhelmed hero, but A Hero nonetheless. Reminds me of Hibiki from Symphogear in a few ways. -Still waiting for the other shoe to drop between Sayaka and Takkun, although these eps made me just slightly less certain that it's coming - at least in the way I initially expected. -I get that Kyubei is a Fucker who clearly has Plans, but I really don't see how keeping his main instruments ignorant of the most basic workings of their own powers really works to benefit those Plans. Not yet, anyway. -The ending to Episode 6 was loving amazing. Everyone's panicking about Sayaka's apparent death and what Kyubei's just told them, even as Homura's gotten back with the goods, and then Sayaka gets up and looks around in confusion. "...What?" Roll credits. A++

I'm sorry that I can't understand forum people's emotions. It stems from an overabundance of brain cell connections, not from an attempt for being a shallow gimmick like MIGF.
