I hope that money won't flow freely between the UK and the EU and they lose all these money laundering schemes that strengthens their financial system artificially:

Highly likely to make the second round but won't go all the way. As the poster above says she could lose the second round by an awful lot.

The real tragedy at this point is that she's going to get pounded into the ground by a neoliberal empty suit because he's going to pick up the very serious right wingers who are rapidly dropping Fillon like a hot potato.

But yeah, her ceiling is still lower than Trump's floor ever reached.

The movement La France Insoumise started in february of last year, and L'Avenir en Commun was published in its final form in december, well before the PS primary. The online campaign took off in september/october. And so on.

Andreas Papandreou, founder of PASOK, had similarly made a "Greece for the Greeks" statement, so it's not unprecedented as a leftie slogan. It's definitely a wording that has different connotations in today's context than it did in the '80s, however.

On the other hand, i think it's the cycle, she may realize she will never be elected president. The FN strategy may change soon toward a more parliamentary strategy. Not sure it's a good thing. Speaking of bad people with wrong opinions, there's a new study. They're looking at links between the muslim faith and a tendancy towards extremism.

quote:

"The study outlines that 32% of the young muslims have an absolutist(tr?) view of religion. (They agree with both statements: "There's only one true religion" and "religion trumps science") against 10.7% from the study's panel, and 33% have an elevated tolerance towards violence and deviant behavior (stealing, cheating, [..] dealing drugs..) against 25% in the panel and 8% in the representative sample polled by OpinionWay"
(The authors insist their sample isn't representative of French youth)

quote:

"Against all sociological logic, social origin and education level don't balance the effect of religious belonging. That is, whatever the academical performance and parent's activity, a young muslim from the sample is 4 times more likely than a christian to adhere to extremist ideas."

Méluche's performs really good in debates, or at least he is the only one not stumbling around (Macron, Hamon) or rabidly barking after the EU / the muslims (la marine, of course). And drat, did they dose Fillon on prozac before sending him on stage ?
That said, while he did deny being Putin's friend, I would find his line about "redefining/renegociating borders" slightly worrying if I were living in Ukraine or the baltics. And what's this obsession about beeing dragged in NATO's wars ? I'm pretty sure we went into Lybia, Mali and Syria/Iraq without anyone having to invoke article 5.

The only "Article 5 war" so far has been Afghanistan.

Libya (not lybia, lybia are cute little crabs), Mali, and the anti-Daesh operations in Syria and Iraq are technically not NATO operations.

The refusal of the EU to negotiate with the Greek government on debt had nothing to do with anything but ideological hatred towards Syriza from the neoliberal ruling elite. I don't see how that would be controversial at all. If they had just concluded the second review as planned in early-mid 2015, they would have gotten some debt restructuring and access to the money faucet that is QE - but Varoufakis and Tsipras ruined it all by being stupid.
