Also just as an aside it's possible to point out the flaws of a country/area without then immediately segueing that into "that's why they're ALL a bunch of dirty scum!!!" and I think you'll find that if you can avoid that impulse you'll get bogged down in less "you're racist" arguments.

There's a difference between "Intelligent, capable men who rose to the highest rungs of society" and "Corporate interests bankrolling someone for future political leverage"

Actually no, these things aren't mutually exclusive. Nor are they binary, there are definitely degrees to both. There's no question that Clinton (Bill), Bush (both), Trump (all of them that haven't been disowned) and Obama (not Malik) sold the public out to some degree to get to their apex. The thing to realize is that this is a necessity for political power (see Three Rules for Rulers), but those who are genuinely interested in the betterment of society try to balance this out as much as possible.

I can see this argument.

When Sanders stood down and supported his own loving people pick up on that and might not care that him raging would have helped republicans, just that he should have raged. The guy arrested at civil rights protests in the past for loving poo poo up who now has a message of political revolution is now campaigning for the person who was rumored to have stolen an election from him, and continued to do so once it was proven explicitly that the election was stolen from him. And has said very little since.

It's one of the psychological moments like the Dean Scream or the debates where Romney proudly and smugly declaring and doubling down on Obama having said the word "Terrorists" in a speech before the moderator shut him down and he looked like a confused child.

Bernie walked the fine line of campaigning to represent and reform the DNC, while at the same time being unable to call out the DNC for its poo poo

Bernie rightly recognized he was up against greater powers who at the very least proved willing use an extensive media network to scuttle his presidential campaign out of spite, and would very likely have forced him out of the game one way or another if he continued to push back against the democrats.

Bernie is a civil servant with a lot of progress at stake whereas Trump can do whatever he wants and if he loses so what, he never wanted to make a difference in politics anyway
