The whole "you were supposed to ask me for permission" thing was such a weird, pointless, and uncharacteristic thing for Joe in the first place that I'm fine assuming that Barry just decided that if Joe complains about it again after they literally had a conversation where Joe said of course he approved and encouraged Barry to hold out hope that she'd want to be engaged than he's probably suffering some kind of brain damage.

Extremely disappointed the episode didn't play out like Once More With Feeling. Or the Brave and the Bold episode! Using a parallel dimension felt like such a cop out, I wanted to see the Music Meister making them dance and sing about their current problems. Oh well. On the plus side, I liked the casting they made. NPH wouldn't have worked in the same way, since this MM was... not evil at all.

Twelve or thirteen songs (not counting the ones they wrote and produced just to be background gags), all of them original, all of them at the very least good, all of them providing exposition and moving forward multiple season-long storylines. Plus it was fun hearing people who obviously aren't professional singers give it their best shot, too. I really hope the CWDC shows give the musical schtick another chance, but go all out on it. Just no hawk people.

It's a real shame and it feels like it may be the case of them scrounging a script together at the last minute before filming and stuff out of pressure by fans to make a musical episode. Having to make the Music Meister some universe hopping imp seems lazy. Give him his BatB powers or some variation and then also the ability to create dimensional portals via singing a note that resonates at a particular frequency and boom! Solved the crossover problem without having to resort to dreams, hallucinations or pocket dimensions. Getting everyone else to sing? gently caress it. It's a musical. Alternatively, he just projects a psychic field that makes everyone start singing.

Something that got me thinking from the Supergirl thread. Earth 1 US President was assassinated by aliens in the cross-over. Did they just completely blow that off? No one has mentioned it since? Is the public aware of how he died? Did they blame a terrestrial group that we're now going to war with? Or is this where we need the speed force GIF?

I thought Panabaker was supposed to be a real good singer, too? If that's the case, is there a reason she wasn't in this? Wasn't too hot on the episode, and expected much better things, but it was okay to watch. At least it tied all the unnecessary drama for Iris/Barry and Kara/Mon-El so that's nice.

That was fun. The episode was fun and I liked it.
