Only thing we actually learned today was that: 1. Red Bull should have stuck all the new aero bits on the car during testing, because trying to be too clever has left them with an undrivable car in FP2. 2. Palmer is a bit poo poo. He over corrected when the back end got away from him, thought he had saved it and then binned it into the wall because he didn't try to save it when it went away from him again. 3. Haas really need a new break supplier. 4. Pat is actively encouraging Ted to talk to people at inappropriate times. 5. Boring McDull must have compromising photographs to still be in a job but crofty saying "I'm sorry they didn't ask you to drive for them" (Williams) "...." "anyway, moving on" was chuffing hillarious

I started watching FP2 live with about 50 mins on the clock and something had happened. They were talking about hass switching supplier for the next race. E: no real point watching free practice until we know the true pace of the cars, only reason to is if you missed seeing the ideas of the cars during testing or want to have a good laugh at ocon's car and helmet combination. learnincurve fucked around with this message at 15:31 on Mar 24, 2017 |

wicka posted:It's pretty clear that McLaren have told their drivers and staff to let loose on Honda publicly if they feel so inclined. Alonso pretty much said nothing the last two years except for the occasional in-car outburst, but this year he has repeatedly and strongly criticized them, with no defense or mitigation coming from Boullier et al. So if they are playing up their issues, they're doing a drat fine job of it. This is actually a sign that the team is in disarray, there's nobody (competent) at the helm. Anarchy reigns. They are shocked and disgusted by the way in which Ron Dennis, McLaren's father and soul, was removed by shady foreign interests just as his comeback with Honda was about to enter its most critical and victorious phase. For the good lads in the resistance at McLaren I have only one piece of advice to help deal with Hack Clown... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nfWlot6h_JM

Right, what time is the loving race on (UK)? The F1 app says 0600 our time but the bastard clocks go forward an hour at 0100 on Sunday morning and I don't know if the F1 app takes that into account.

Norns posted:I didn't notice the flex with anyone else's Twing. The Merc wing is mounted to the body in front of the rear wing and is relatively stable. The Haas and Williams ones are hung from the shark fin which is why they flap like crazy through the corners. I'm kinda surprised that Haas was told to remove theirs and Williams wasn't. Ferrari also have a wing on the shark fin, I am not sure if they solved the wobblyness in testing or if we just didn't see the right slow mo shots of it.

Is this just a hobby for Honda? I'm being serious because their approach is about the same as mine is towards karting where I can't be assed to fix things for months at a time, it really seems like they just like going to races and wrenching on F1 cars so they asked for a budget to do that. Edit: loving
