I think what I most enjoy about classic A3g is the art. I look at some of the scenes and it just seems like Kotzky must have taken hours to draw just one panel. The stories I've been iffy on. I am not sure even where this one is going, but I guess that's why I read it: to see what happens. Glad you're enjoying them too!

I like Sally Forth, but I don't like it as a serious drama strip. Didn't we just go through a serious arc where Ces had to make a big “things will get better, I promise“ post? It's well written and all, but, y'know, maybe not quite the venue for it.

I've heard from old-school comic strip connoisseurs that B.C. used to be a really good, sharp strip, before Johnny Hart transmogrified into what he's best known for today (see: the menorah incident, etc), so I'm eager to follow along and see.

I'm digging the inclusion of Ali's House, since one of my best friends is first-generation Lebanese and now I have another neat little point of reference!

All of the main characters in this comic base their self worth on their "geekiness" as defined by the media they consume. The answer to your question is "Yes."

I also agree with this to a degree. I know Ces is going through some stuff right now and I understand that may be bleeding over into his strip, but it's not what I look for when I read Sally Forth.

Hopefully he'll eventually get back to making SF goofy again and keep the serious stuff in JP. I'm willing to give him more time though. These were probably written months ago, after all.
