I'm going to say that a creative project is not an appropriate place for a political fight.

Given that creative projects are inherently political by their nature of being created by humans (and thus influenced by their culture, background, beliefs, and opinions AKA politics), I'd be curious to know what is the appropriate place to call out a racist shithead if not your own creative team.

That sort of head-in-the-sand thinking is how poo poo like this gets into the final product:

If someone says it one more time I'm having Florina show up as a corpse. I'm not even kidding, I was pissed off with people doing that shit back in 2010, and I'm not dealing with it now in 2016.
This btw, is why whoever the project lead is needs to be able to stamp the foot down and say "Okay everyone shut the gently caress up about the thing that's not important to what we're doing." Which has come up a few times in my own development circles. You need someone to make it 100% clear that you're there to do a job, whatever that job is, and not to get into a slap fight with the other team members.

EDIT: No, it's not loving important what a person believes when they have a job to do. What is important is them doing their job and doing it right. If they're not doing their job right, that's a problem that needs to be addressed, and if them not doing their job right comes down to their beliefs, whatever they may be, that's when they get addressed.

If you've got the time to be upset and debate one of your fellow workers about politics, then apparently you finished all of your own work, yes? Otherwise, you pack that poo poo in, act like a god damned adult, and do your loving job. THAT is the cause of fan project failings, when people don't treat their work seriously. When they joke "Oh it doesn't matter if it isn't good/doesn't come out/isn't X, it's just a fan thing. Who cares?

EDIT EDIT: Clarifying on the poo poo that happened from one Anon on /vp/, also because I always like to find things out for myself, not just read them.

Pretty sure Pokemon Sage is not a nuanced political commentary. An appropriate place would be when you're not trying to get work done. If your top priority on a creative project is monitoring the police leanings of your workers, you've got other problems.

Good grief, thank you for that. Nothing irritates more than that one team member who is Always On and has to make sure everyone knows at all times what a Good Person with the Correct Opinions they are. It's very draining and I just started tuning that guy out.

A god drat Scizor showed up in the last totem fight, you don't know how much time I spent trying to knock down the totem boss without KOing the Scizor... and discover that you cannot capture pokemon during totem fights - so much effort for nothing.

at least Pokemon Clover is clearly supposed to be dumb, and at least some of the pokemon are worth a laugh, like the one that's just a cute raindrop but it's holding a gun, or Barbarkley, which is a basketball Barbacle. i hope whatever plot it has is equally dumb shitposting, instead of trying to be serious like this one

also hahahahah, Clover /also/ has construction equipment lizards, Lizascoop and Reptrill

really i don't get the pokemon in this game that /aren't/ stupid 4chan-ey jokes, like the ordinary-rear end fossil pokemon. i kinda wish they'd gone with something like 'dinosaur with ridiculously long neck to the point where the head is off-screen' or 'a neanderthal'
