Trump is the face and leader of their party now and they made that possible and it owns I am just guessing that a lot of these people base their whole identity and self worth on the republican party being a strong and proud tradition and they're all trapped into a massive sunk cost hell with trump now being impossible to remove from their party. hard to imagine a coordinated public burning happening unless there's a slaughter in 2018

If the food could be made healthy and emphasis nutrition over meats, fats and sugars an arrangement could and should be made. Make sure that every Popeyes and McDonalds gets put right next to a fast food place that flips bean burgers, tosses salads and offers fruit smoothes then let it accept food stamps. If someone else doesn't beat me to it that's a five year project to open up around here.

I do wish ebt worked with hot foods too, tho, cause while I wouldn't need it since I have access to ways of heating stuff up, I know there are definitely people out there unfortunate enough to not have a proper means of heating something up and being able to get some cheap burgs off the dollar menu at mcdonalds would be a godsend for them

Baloogan posted:imo the government should run fast food places anyone (no means testing) can eat for free this is actually a pretty decent idea. i think a lot of our problems today boil down to a lot of essential services companies having no real incentive to keep prices down. that's fine when you're selling toys or tvs or whatever, where it's perfectly okay to decide 'our analysis shows it's better to sell this thing for 11 bucks to 1 million people than 1 dollar to 10 million people' but that gets hosed up when you apply that to things like food or water or healthcare completely state-owned essentials can be messy but at a bare minimum, have state-run competitive non-profits and not just the bare minimum charity organizations that try to fill in. the country as a whole benefits when everybody is fed, watered, clothed, housed, and healthy, if they are missing one of these things they are going to struggle to compete in the economy whatsoever. but this will never happen because despite the ideals they push, all of our legislators are actively paid to ensure every industry is as non-competitive as possible

We complained Obama's airstrikes were too restrictive. Now, under Trump, they're much easier, and we killed 200+ civilians. Ohhh. I'd like to make a cutting, sarcastic, comic oriented comment here, but the whole ISIS fight thing is just such a nightmare resulting in so many deaths, and other horrors. Yet, we have a President who talks about killing people's families and taking oil. I just feel so embarrassed I real world want to cry.
