I think this entire year is going to be backer mandate on funding until CIG shits out something and calls it 3.0. Oh sure there are going to be a few spurts here and there, but there will be no more recordbreakers this year.

they said they were employed there but who knows

I don't research or verify anything anyone sends me or talks to me about

also mass effect is bad but I loving :lol:ed (Liam spoilers)

If you cut off the big bossman angara dude on the ship, Liam kinda freaks out a bit later and the bad guy keeps trying to turn back on the vidscreen, complete with scary boss music as you both take turns cutting him off (and the music as well) and talking over him

Well that and ME:A is an actual game. Releasing was EA's mistake, one which Star Citizen is doing well to avoid.

1.75 + 1.96 + about 1.3 unless they pull a rabbit out of their rear end over the last few days of March.

Total of almost exactly 5 million. Which I would say is a million bucks less than even the most optimistic (read: retarded) estimate of their burn rate. Likely 2.5 to 4+ million less than a realistic burn rate estimate.

Which I think makes it into their top three worst quarters since the initial ramp up but I'm not gonna waste a lot of time making sure.

The bad part is that usually their worst quarters are June/July/August because people are "saving up" for the big anniversary and holiday "sale", I think. Whereas those things are currently months away.

E.g.:

Jan/Feb 2014: 3.8m
Jan/Feb: 2015: 5.4m
Jan/Feb 2016: 4.8m
Jan/Feb 2017: 3.7m

FWIW here's the monthlies:

Mass Effect: Andromeda is a game, and it gets judged on its merits.

Star Citizen is a dream, and it gets judged on its potential.

SC is still a broken mess of unfinished "modules", no single player campaign (SQ42) and too many promises of future content and features. And while they are still calling this pre-alpha builds, they get immunity by the press (most of it anyway) and/or the benefit of the doubt from the gaming community and especially the most gullible of their backers.

If they start calling this crap "beta" or release anything (eg SQ42 prelude) as a commercial product (rather than a dream you pledge to) I'd expect the community to tear them to pieces.

Chris: "Help! HELP! Star Citizen is going nowhere!!!"
Goons1-4: "Stop making promises! Fire the ship artists and hire some gameplay developers!"
Chris: "I'm thinking I should make more promises... should I sell a new concept ship too?"
Goon5: "NO! I have worked on big games before, scope creep is a real thing that should be avoided."
Goons6-8: "We're refunding our space chariots! Stop selling dreams and make the game!"
dsmart: "I've written an entire blog post about refunds!"
Chris: "I can see your refunds and blog post, but I don't want to acknowledge problems... should I sell a new concept?"
Goon10: "No! If you keep selling dreams, you'll be upside-down on progress, and then you'll be proper hosed."
Chris: "I started a new video series and CIG hasn't gone bankrupt yet. I'm gonna record more mo-cap..."
Goons11-18: "No! Stop selling jpegs! Focus on making the game!"
Chris: "Guys, Star Citizen is seriously not ready for Citcon! Help! HELP!!!"
Goon19: "I was stuck in development hell once. It took me two years, but I managed to build a working game by switching engines to something better suited to the gameplay we wanted. I'm e-mailing you the github link, design documents, and an assortment of engine pro/con charts."
Goon20: "I've engineered a funding tracker that shows your current trajectory. If you keep selling concept ships, you'll earn less and less, while alienating even more of your customers!"
Chris: "Thanks for your help, guys. I'm gonna keep selling dreams and jpegs. I'll do one more mo-cap session and just show that at Citcon."
**Goons1-20 piss on Star Citizen**
