I am very excited that they picked Skitarii for the entry. I'll have to pick up this issue.

The post shows it's just a Ranger unit, which makes the most sense for AdMech. This game looks fun as hell.

The Skitarii unit is called Rangers, but they have options for taking the radium carbines as well as the rifles, and all three special weapons from the box. So it doesn't matter how you built your Skitarii troops. Their Special Operatives are Techpriest Enginseer, Sicarian Ruststalker, and Sicarian Infiltrator.

Team is 3-10, 3 specialists, all re-roll their first failed ammo roll of the game.

If the full rules are in the WD that does point to the rumor that the base box only includes orks and scouts.

Sicarian Infiltrator is going to be brutal if the Neurostatic Aura rule is in the game. -1 to LD, WS, BS and I.

They are absolute motherfuckers in (regular) Kill Team.

Sure you're only five models and you're hosed if they have an ignores cover heavy weapon but holy poo poo you ruin everything you get close to.

Man, the Shadow Wars stuff looks really cool. I've never played Necromunda; but people seem to have really liked it. If GW handle this the way they've been handling everything else recently this will be a slam dunk.

Also the terrain looks great, probably a day 1 purchase for me. It looks well worth the money!

How would I go about adding a Grey Knights Librarian to my AdMech forces? Would I have to do a CAD to get him?

I was looking online for possible unit combinations, and came across the Fulgurite Electro-Priests + Grey Knight Librarian combo. I like the models of the priests, and I wanted to include them in my army. But with no armor saves and no transport, I feel like they're a useless unit unless they can teleport.

Just run an allied detachment, min is 1HQ and 1 troop.

Sorta. They have a special detachment called the Nemesis Strike Force. Its 1 HQ and 1 troop mimimum, and units can deep strike turn 1 on a 3+ among other things if you feel comfortable trading obsec from the allied detachment rules.

Otherwise I'm assuming the guy who came with Roboute can be used as a HQ in any imperial army like all the other triumvirate characters.

edit: honestly for as mediocre as the GK are right now you can do much worse than a unit of terminators or force-weapon armored marines in your army. It also opens up a slot for a Land Raider for your super fragile dudes that you can toss a Dominus in to make annoyingly unkillable.

I'm glad I asked, I was running my list for Sunday's tournament with a CAD of 1 Techpriest Dominus and 2 squads of 3 Kataphron Destroyers. Switched it to an allied Cult Mech force with 1 Dominus kitted out with the Memento-Morispex and 1 unit of 6 Kataphron destroyers.

I'll probably just pick up a Librarian and a strike squad in a rhino. I want to keep it as minimal as possible, because I know if i get more than that i'm going to end up starting a second imperial army.

You're right, I can just take him as my 2nd HQ slot in my primary detachment, along with Cawl. He's 240 points, but comes with all the powers I need. That's the route I'm going, thanks!

If you can find WD136, it included DIY templates for 40k scale versions of the classic Epic Ork vehicles. (I don't know how useful they'd be in the current codex.)

Army Painter sells a perfectly acceptable pear of anguish that's way cheaper than GW's, or you could go to an actual dungeon supply store and get a professional quality pear of anguish. It won't be that much more expensive than the Citadel one and you won't have to replace it every month or two if you take care of it.

Lieutenant, what do those Bolters fire?
50 millimeter explosive tip caseless. Standard light armor piercing rounds. Why?
Well, look where your team is. They're right under the promethium rig.
So?
So, if they fire their weapons in there, won't they rupture the promethium distillation tanks?
Ho, ho, ho. Yeah, she's absolutely right.
So? So what?
Look, this whole station is basically a big promethium firebomb, right? So you're talkin' about a massive explosion and adiós, muchachos.
Oh, great. Wonderful.

I finally had my parents ship me my old models again, which rules. Turns out tons of my dudes were the old Black Reach marines.

Unfortunately, turns out I'm missing about 8 Marine-Bolter-arm things that slot in.

Is there a way to just get those little 2 peg pieces from GW? I couldn't find any on eBay.

Or is the answer more just "marines are hella cheap and just get new dudes"

Those arms only come in the snap-fit marines GW stores use for painting demos anymore. If you've got a store nearby, and the manager isn't a dick, they might give you enough to fix your dudes.

Hey I primed some models one color but then decided I kinda wanna go with a different color scheme, and it would be faster and look better if I could prime in a different base color... is it safe to throw on a second layer of primer, with no other paint, or should I look into stripping these first to make sure the detail doesn't get too obscured? :ohdear:
