I think Bruce Boudreau is a really good coach but I really just don't know how you leave Ovechkin wide-open 3 times on the PP in his spot. Like...you coached the dude for 5 seasons and literally like half of his goals are from that spot. It's no secret he's going to try to sock a few dingers from the left dot.

That's some Dave Hakstol level coaching up of the penalty kill.

I'm ok with this.
If you go to TSN.ca there's a video of an interview with Matthews asking him about beating Clark's record. At the 10 second mark you can hear his voice crack on camera. Hockey robot becoming a hockey man robot and I love him.

Also in that vid, Matthews joins ovi and Sid the Slasher as the only rookies to score 35 or more goals in the last 20 seasons

Literally every time it's brought up, you cannot have someone camp out on Ovechkin on the circle. You are giving up an incredibly likely goal to stop a somewhat less likely goal. It doesn't make sense, which is why you've never seen ANYONE do it. You think the PK coaches are like, "gently caress me, how come we never watched video of their powerplay!"

Randy Carlyle had Jay McClement stand in front of Ovechkin on the PP the entire game once, actually. The Leafs did lose, yes.

Okay, for our OilAS friends, the Stanley Cup playoffs is played in a best of 7 games series between 16 seeded teams with the winner of 4 games in a series advancing to the next round matched up against a winner of a different series. 16 games are needed to win the Stanley Cup!

Good luck and have fun!

Don't forget Eberle and RNH, both going to the playoffs for the first time in their 7/6 year careers. Yakupov gets to go too with the Blues.

In fact, now, there is only one #1 draft pick since 2000 who's never been to the playoffs.

I wasn't even that excited by the hat trick, it came so easily.

The hero of that game was Oshie. It's going to be so different next year if they can't find a guy that can finish like he can, both in the slot, from the circles and in the shootout.
