Blastermaster's rumble on the joy-cons is completely insane, my dog gets micro-scares when I'm playing it (he's a coward).

One possibility: the Switch has a setting to automatically go to sleep when it detects that the display has turned off. Maybe it's getting a false positive from your monitor and going to sleep when it shouldn't?

I would get Snake Pass if it was ten bux cheaper. If they add more levels and fix the portable mode rush job, I'd pay $20. Sounds like a fun game.

I got a little burnt out towards the end of my Zelda play through, I think my final shrine count was 96? But that's the beauty of BotW, you get to decide when you're ready to enter Hyrule Castle and challenge Ganon. In my case, 105 hours into the game, I was more than tanky enough to withstand anything he could throw at me--I was actually disappointed that I was too worried about his difficulty to challenge him earlier. Serously, until I rushed the castle I had only entered Hyrule Field to get the tower and memory.

Also despite the fact that BotW was somewhat losing my interest the Hyrule Castle interior dragged me right back in, there was a decent amount of hidden things and "bonus" items. My favorite was thinking I needed to fight the Stalnox to move forward, getting annoyed when I realised it was optional, and then instantly forgiving the game for tricking me into fighting an "optional" boss because it gave me the Hylian Shield as a reward.

Don't listen to Tim, he definitely hasn't played it. I don't think anyone here has actually picked it up because it doesn't look that good, is getting mostly negative reviews and frankly isn't by that great of a developer, and don't really want to spend $20 to find out.

Not sure what convinced GameStop/Nintendo they needed to give this game a push and publish a physical copy.

You know Trine? Frozenbyte is behind the series, and they published two of the three Trine games on the Wii U, but not the third - which is a blessing in disguise, since they ran out of money during development, so they had to publish it in haste. Anyway, Nintendo is in good terms with the guys and they have this "Nindie" initiative going on, so I guess they got some help? It doesn't look too shabby, but it might just be my national bias in play. :finland:

Yeah I played Trine 2 and didn't like it very much. Wonky physics and poorly designed puzzles. To me it just had graphics going for it, and Has Been doesn't even have that.

Trine was especially disappointing because I thought it would be like a modern Lost Vikings but it just wasn't anywhere near as good.

it's funny because I really liked Trines 1&2 but 3 was an unapologetic dumpster fire

also they released a stealth game that looked cool and then 1 mission in it revealed the "twist" was "the entire game is an escort quest"

Considering Gamestop is publishing it that's probably the biggest reason why it got a physical release and the store reps wouldn't shut up about it.

Hard pass imo, along with snake pass unless it got magically patched in portable mode. Not like I don't still have plenty to play.

I'm done with Zelda too and would like to just beat Ganon and get it over with, is it possible to kill him with 5 hearts?

I just don't find the combat fun anymore and/or rewarding in anyway whatsoever (seriously, the game needed a xp bar and skills, horizon has better and more rewarding combat because of it) and I can't stand the climbing. Literally every time I try to climb a rain storm will happen. The shrines are fun also but the towers are really annoying to climb in that classic UbiSoft way.

Thanks for answers.

You're likely in an area of the game which has constant rain for story reasons. About five hours in that's kind of the direction the game naturally pushes you in, if you are a couple miles east and a little North of the starting area. If you stick to the roads around there you'll find out why.

Yeah you can kill Ganon with five hearts, but without good armor and weapons and enhanced abilities it's not likely.

Much like a traditional Zelda you are going to unlock more abilities as you progress through the story, it's just this time the abilities are not items. I'd recommend trying to do at least one "dungeon" before rushing Ganon.

Tim's trolling, posting what he thinks a stereotypical Nintendo fanboy would say.

Thank you, I'm actually in another area I'm just having bad luck. I've killed the elephant fire beast and was trying to find another to do but got annoyed with the sandstorm area and then I headed to another one now. I hate that you have to have certain items to explore a certain area that's unfun IMHO. Good game though.

Snake Pass runs fine in portable mode though? Framerate is consistent, it's just a bit blurry.

I don't think this is due to a hasty port so much as inherent hardware limitations.

It took me almost a week of owning my Switch to find that option, so now I'm wondering if it's on a time delay or something to mess with people.

You're probably right but I assumed otherwise because I can bring up the manual user selection screen even with one user. Weird to make the opposite not work.

Edit: You're correct, the option disappears if you make another user. WTF, Nintendo?

I POSTED WHAT NOW!?
Brosephine is 100% right that it rains way too loving often in Zelda. Every single time i decide I'm going to climb something a little bit high it'll start raining halfway up so I have to wait it out unless I want to warp and start all over again. I seriously had it one time where it rained, I waited for it to stop. Got almost near the top and it started raining again and 5 minutes had not even passed.

The rain system is the most hosed up thing I've ever seen in a game because it's literally a "stop the player from having any fun" mechanic and I can't believe people defend this poo poo but its in a Zelda game so it must be perfect. I actually don't really like the Zelda series, I got somewhat bored of it after OoT and I never played Skyward Sword because I hated Twilight Princess. However, I like BoTW. It changed a lot of stuff up and does a lot right, but still has a ton of bad stuff too.

No joke it's probably among the best games of the last 10 years but it is by no means flawless.

I definitely think the weather and weapons could've used more balancing. I adore how the game looks when it's sunny, but most days it's rainy and the sunset/sunrise takes a big chunk of the day, so you don't really get much time in the awesome Miyazaki grasslands and forests.
